I know some of you are trying to make Mines out as if they are a national power. They are very good but in reality they were the Notre Dame of D2 once they played against a very good team (Valdosta, Ferris, and Harding).
I will eat crow but a long drought is going to start back up again for the RMAC and LSC unless Harding drops way off.
Simply put the top 2 of the MIAA and GAC is better than the top 2 of the RMAC and LSC.
This bet goes for anyone. Ill bet $100, $500, $1000, etc. to back it up.

Harding went through the toughest region in the country that year (beating Central Missouri and Grand Valley) and they made Colorado Mines look like Sul Ross in the Championship game. They also blew out a very good Pitt State team on the road last year. No team was going to beat Ferris the past year.

It goes back to how tough SR3 is. Now I think a second place GAC team has a much better chance of winning a playoff game in a much weaker SR4.
When the third place team from the NSIC in Bemidji State can go on the road and beat the better teams SR4 had to offer (UTPB, ASU, and Western Colorado) and had Central Washington in a 3 score hole in their playoff game, then that points to the current weakness of the LSC and RMAC overall now.

Fair point but Ouachita Baptist did beat Harding last year and took Central Oklahoma to overtime last year in the playoffs.

In my opinion (its the offseason so we bull$hit) the MIAA and GAC playoff teams will be better than the RMAC and LSC playoff teams. Whats awesome is they are all in the same region now so it will play out both non conference and the playoffs. Then either way I can say told you so or you can say I suck the huge one and dont know what I am talking about if the RMAC or LSC make it to the semis.

Last team from the LSC/RMAC to make it to the national semi-finals before the MIAA left the region in 2012 was Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2003.
Its no accident when the MIAA left the first year that a LSC team made it to the semi-finals (WT) in 2012 and Pueblo winning it all for the RMAC in 2014.
We will see if the trends return pre 2012.
I play poker and do sports betting on the side so yeah if I see a high chance of something happening I tend to take advantage.
This is one of many reasons I miss Brandon being at full health to educate on history as well.

You two keep making my points over and over. RMAC and the LSC would not have advanced past SR3 during those times either with the exception maybe being 2018 when Commerce won it.
We can certainly post this topic in the main forum and most will agree the MIAA/GAC teams/champs would be heavy favorites to meet in the regional final this year for sure.

The point that you miss is that things change year-to-year a lot more, and it isn't all about alignment of regions. Dynasties come and wane.
Is the new region alignment going to impact the LSC? Yes, it is. We will see what that might be. The MIAA is well down from that pre-2016 era.
Time will tell.

I will say this. If Pitt State finishes their regular season 11-0 with their schedule, you will have a he!! of a time convincing me that they arent the team to beat.
