As for Moon, for the most part from afar he seems to be doing well, but in his 2 high profile hires -- women's hoops -- terrible hire - and men's hoops --way way way too soon to know.

He has been very very successful in raising money and building facilities and moving that program forward and has to be given credit for that and honestly that is huge. Things seem to be happening there.

Can he hire coaches -- we'll see. Good job. Nice facilities, improved stuff, new stadium, great league, fully funded scholarships. Should be able to hire a home run.
So far every coach has been hired by Moon except one.

Swimming, though still fairly new has grown by depth and quality.

Volleyball has never been to a better level than they have been since that hire.

Wrestling went from being shut down as a program to being saved, better funded, great up grades, HUGE numbers and becoming more competitive in regional and national rankings.

Cross county and track and still too soon

    Soccer just had first year

    Womens basketball in 2nd season

Softball has shown growth and been competitive. While before was lucky to beat Presentation College across town about ten years ago.

So actually he has been incredible with his hirings so far granted there are a few pending results, they have all been upgrades.

What is the overall consensus on the Mike Schmidt hire from the presser yesterday? All words and talk at this point but just curious.

My first course of action right now would be to get down to St Cloud and figure out what players he can pluck off that roster. Gotta be a few talented ones. The biggest positions of need I think we gotta go after is a difference maker at QB, a couple corners, and attack the D line. Guys that can come in and help us next year.

Seems the big emphasis has been put on recruiting so we will see what Mike has got to offer! Need more talent on the roster, no doubt about it.

We need speedy corners and some o-linemen that can move. I believe we have a few young good ones in Steinhauer, Perry, and Amato.

Things I have heard so far are all goo . Coach is marketing with players, not really for football reasons but to just take time to get to know each and every one of then and who they are. Sounds like the D will switch to a 4-3. Schmidt's teams have had great sack numbers while the Wolves were not good in that department. Looking probable for some Golden Eagles and Huskies to end up as Wolves.

Regardless, things seem to be very positive so far.

What an excellent hire. Heard this was coming and can't wait to see what kind of an impact he has both recruiting and with our offense.

Also of note, it looks like most of the coaching staff from last year has been cleared from the website. Had hoped Flyger would stay on staff but unclear at this time if it was his choice to leave or if it was Schmidt's decision to let him go. Would expect news of a new Defensive Coordinator relatively soon.

Looks like we got a SCSU transfer commit today. Didn't seem to have a great resume, but hoping that means we maybe have some more on the horizon! Seems recruiting is off to a great start under Schmidt.

Vance Barnes will be attending grad school at NSU to finish out his career. Attended St. Cloud and Mankato.

Just seeing the offers and commits, obviously results on the field are what we are looking for but the energy, the size and skill level of these kids has certainly impressed so far. The lines are being addressed. Amazing how you can feel the energy through social media.

Max Otto from Delano, MN just committed. Watching the highlights, I personally see a ton of potential in this one.

Wolves football has added Lee Pronschinske to their coaching staff.as a DB's coach. Winona fans should know him.
