The terrible 2023 season mercifully comes to an end. Disappointment is an understatement.

I hope all who traveled had fun. Too bad the weather made too many people stay home and you didn't get to see CSS really rocking.

The QB is a real threat when he runs. They have set up a nice O for him with super quick passes and spreading everyone out so he could run.

The D is obviously down, but the MLB is a bright spot. Guy hits like a truck.


Overall a clean game without much jawing or after the whistle antics.

Looked like a well coached disciplined team who should be tough in a couple of years or sooner if they hit a few licks in the portal.

28 year winning season streak comes to an end. It was good while it lasted.

PBP Tom Fredrick can name all your starters and their numbers as he study's and remembers all that info. He is a freak of nature in a very good way. He really calls a great game in FB and BB.

And his prep time for that is incredible. He walks around repeating the two deep until he gets it. A real rarity.

Local radio did an interview with the USF pbp guy. Was a good interview. He talked about their youth on D and how they had some guys who just weren't ready yet.

Carnie stadium is famous for attendance number over 10k. What makes Pitt St. fans so loyal? It's good to see NWMSU struggling, never understood what made them so strong other than hiring a coach with SD roots. HaHa.

The relationship between the town and the University has always been pretty good.

That said, attendance isn't quite what it used to be before 10 years of mediocrity, but it is slowly coming back.

While most of the board doesn't recall what happ to SMSU about 10 years ago....they gave up a 90 spot to Pitt in a Mineral Water Bowl game.

I remember that. I think that was a combination of a frustrated staff trying to keep their jobs, and trying to make sure JB had padded stats to help him get to the next level.

It is a completely different staff, philosophy, and style at Pitt these days. Wright doesn't run it up. He turtles up.
