I saw that- they won't be playing this season. Hard to get a full independent schedule next year.

Also, it sounds like this $3 million that they raised gets them basically 2 years. What happens after that, does the school start funding or is this an endless fundraising job?

That is sadly the case for many programs, in all different sports.

But, I agree. What then? Hard to (re-)build a program on the unknown.

This has been talked about on another thread- I thought that I better move it to where it belongs.

The first COVID casualty of the year in college hockey has been announced. The Gophers' home series with Alaska has been postponed until January due to "COVID protocols"

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that the Mavs won 2-0 last night. When they were down 3-0 today I went out to take down the laundry. Came back in to see six straight goals and win 6-3 to sweep on the road.

I hope that UMass comes to Mankato next season. I've never seen the Minutemen play in any sport and would like to cross them off of my list.

Mavs now sit #1 after the weekend sweep. SUPER early to determine accurate rankings, but next two games are with #2 St Cloud. Early season 1/2 matchups! And extremely difficult schedule to kick off the season.

Definitely a fun schedule for the Mav Fans! BSU isn't far behind with their two opening weekends being a home and home with currently #5 Duluth and then next weekend a home and home with #8 North Dakota. The last non-conference series is around New Years with a home and home with current #2 SCSU. Yikes, I hope the Beavers can go 500....

The following weekend, after the St Cloud series, MSzu plays in the Ice Breaker tournament in Duluth and faces Providence in the Friday game. Then either Duluth or Michigan on Saturday. It’s like starting the season with the NCAA tournament this year. Crazy tough start but they should be ready for the CCHA after that.

We need to go at least 500 against NCHC, B1G, and HE teams. We need to be better than 500 against ECAC and absolutely dominate Atlantic Hockey and indies.

                            That's how we build respect.
