Yup! My Stampede puck was actually the first one I bought that kicked off the idea. It's nice because they actually sell them in display cases with a paper insert with team and league branding on it - most places just have the puck.
The Weiner Dogs have a great logo. I can't wait to add this one to the shelf at work.
UAA finished the 2024-2025 season with a 1-0 victory over Lindenwood in Anchorage. Bryant Marks had 22 saves in his first start as the Seawolves goaltender.
Got to see the MacNaughton Cup last night - it's the second oldest trophy in the sport of hockey, and has lived in Mankato for much of the last decade. It returns after a one year vacation from Bemidji. The oldest trophy is the Stanley Cup, which I saw in Bird Island, Minnesota once (of all places)
Mavs were also on vacation last night. Seems like they either come out of the gate hot and hang a ton of goals on their opponent, or they meander onto the ice on cruise control hoping to get bailed out by Alex Tracy. Last night was a 1-1 SO loss, tonight was a 5-1 beatdown.
Speaking of Tracy - despite the lack of help from the defense, he's putting together one of the best individual seasons in Maverick history, which is really saying something. His .945 save % is higher than any year Dryden McKay played.
Have a big decision to make next weekend - do I go to Augustana for CCHA playoffs or back to Mankato?

Personally, I would go to Augustana. I think that has a lot better chance of being a decent series than Mankato. The Beavers have been on the upswing here at the end of the season, while Lake State has really tailed off.

I was all set to go see it since BI is only 12 miles from me. But something came up that day and I had to be elsewhere unfortunately. If I remember right, the winning team's athletic trainer came from there.

Yup - Jason Serbus. He's still with the team. At one point Max's in Olivia had him sign a jersey and it was hung up.
CCHA Playoffs begin tonight with a best of three series at the high seed.
#8 Lake State at #1 Mankato
#7 Bemidji at #2 Augustana
#6 Ferris at #3 St. Thomas
#5 Michigan Tech at #4 Bowling Green
Teams will be reseeded for the single game semifinals on Saturday, March 15. The top remaining seed will host the lowest remaining seed, the second remaining seed will host the third remaining seed.
The Championship game will be Friday, March 21, at the highest remaining seed.
Bemidji was just a bit faster and tougher than Augie on Saturday and Sunday. I've seen some extremely painful Augie losses throughout the years but yesterday is in the top 10. Unlike Saturday it felt like Augie controlled the action and generated more chances on Sunday but could not convert to get the elusive two goal lead. Flippin Beavers.
