I agree...For a DII to even stay close (within 20) the D1 would have to have a seriously BAD night or the DII to have one of those unconscious nights were every shot they take finds the bottom of the net. It could happen but only once in 4 blue moons!!

Kind of like when a DII plays a D1 "close" in a scrimmage and then their supporters make all sort of grandiose proclamations about how they are ALMOST as good as a D1. It will never happen but it would be interesting for one of these upstart DII's to play the big name D1 in the REAL season and see how differently the D1 approached the game. It's one thing "staying close" in a scrimmage...quite a different thing when the real lights come on and the D1 is playing for realz!!

Cal's roster just isn't built for a full West season. They are going to get mauled by the big monsters of the West. Different league. Danny will adapt.
ORRRRR...If you believe the information, it could be a bad sign for the PSAC West in that Cal is going to be really good.

OOORRRR...It could be the first scrimmage of the year, we are basketball starved, and we are putting too much emphasis on what effectively is an inter squad practice.

If we believe the info you received, there was a 17 point swing in the second half. That ain't too bad. Not having seen the game or even have a box score to refer to, it kind of sounds like a typical WLU game. Opponent can hang for a while but ultimately get tired and fade at the end when the Toppers cruise to a double digit win.

Again, not having a box score to see who played and how many minutes makes it tough to gauge. Possible that our starting 5 could have been Hill, Alessandro, Yoakum, Saben and Watson just as easily as it could have been Arnold, Meininger, Bolton, French and Allen...Or it could have been some mix between.

3-9 is interchangable. If Gannon's vast array of newbies don't get Reilly's defensive schemes early on, the Knights can dig themselves quite a hole and never escape.

LOL ... first thing I thought of, too.

The coaches mangle these every year. No doubt some spite gets involved in the voting.
