So what hurts more, #4 Hurst losing to a bad unranked team, #7 WCU losing to the #10 team or #8 NDC losing to the #2 team?

Obviously Mercyhurst took the worst loss but how far do they fall?

That and what effect does WCU's two game losing streak have?

Here's my guess -- based on the events of last night:

                1. IUP
                2. West Liberty
                3. Virginia State
                4. Fairmont State ----------- yes, 7 losses but they've played a good schedule and the metrics like them (although ESU would murder them in the 4-5 game)
                5. East Stroudsburg ----------- red hot, yes, but those three ugly (real early) non-conference losses are still part of their body of work
                6. Mercyhurst -------------- ????
                7. Shippensburg
                8. Notre Dame

                9. West Chester
                10. Slippery Rock

If Slippery Rock beats Mercyhurst for a third time ... it's going to be hard to keep SRU out. Pair those three wins with the wins over IUP and West Chester and they will have a very solid resume.

What will kill VSU in any tie-breaker scenario is the fact they are just 0-1 against regionally ranked teams -- for the entire season.

The men stole the spotlight but the women's side had a big twist last night -- three of the Top 10 lost (Cal, Edinboro and Concord).

UPDATED (Official Second Release) ------> Prior to last night

                        WOMEN'S

                        1. Virginia Union
                        2. Cal
                        3. Glenville State
                        4. IUP
                        5. Bowie State
                        6. Edinboro
                        7. Charleston
                        8. Concord
                        9. West Liberty
                        10. Bloomsburg

Cal will fall but how far? Edinboro may fall out of the Top 8. Yes, they lost to a ranked IUP, but they got blown out at home. West Liberty likely jumps Concord for the final spot.

I could see Cal fall to 4 or 5, at the very worst (those two wins over IUP are a big plus, but you can't lose to Seton Hill - a team that seems to give Cal fits over the years, see 2014 loss in Greensburg that arguably killed any realistic chance of making regionals that season, aka the pre-Championship season). What also hurts Edinboro: an early season loss to Virginia Union.

Next week's MEC tournament should be interesting to say the least...

I still see IUP and Cal playing four times. I don't quite understand Cal struggling with these lesser teams.

I'm just a score reader for the most part on the women's side so perhaps I'm missing something.

Bowie State got upset last night so that's now the 4th team from this week's rankings to go down.

Take the six that haven't lost, rank them 1-6 and then "give" the last two spots to the two losing teams that choked the least!!
