    Re: 2019 Mountain East Tournament

Glenville's overall record is 28-2. Virginia Union is 26-2

Glenville's in region record is 28-2. Virginia Union is 23-2

Glenville's record against regionally ranked opponents appears to be at 8-0. Virginia Union's record against teams that were regionally ranked appears to be at 3-1.

It looks like their SOS is about even in terms of teams with winning records and games played. I think there are a lot of criteria that seem to favor Glenville.

In other news, the MEC's chances to get 3 teams in looks good with IUP leading Kutztown 64-50 with 4:30 left in the PSAC championship. That bodes well for West Lib women to get a 8 seed.

Notre Dame up 40-39 with 4:05 left in 1st half. Media timeout. Almost more total points in this game so far than in the PSAC men's final.

Halftime of men's championship game: #3 Notre Dame 52 #1 West Liberty 46. Notre Dame got a lot of transition buckets that half. Vorhees an excellent passer for a guy that size. Hill is a player for West Lib.

Perfect tourney in a perfect location! Great crowd that was a mix of WLU, NDC and general MEC fans!

NDC gets a hard faught MEC Tourney crown and with it probably a #4 seed in the NCAA!

Final: Notre Dame 100 West Liberty 96

Tim Koenig is a good coach and puts together a nice squad.

They better enjoy him while he's there -- which won't be much longer. He's very polished. Many schools are going to be interested in him in the coming weeks.

                          I hesitate to comment directly.
Did u happen to see last 7 mins of wju game in tourney? That plus season turnovers committed , rebounds, and fg% extrapolated to 40 min game, will provide additional insights to allow you to draw your own conclusions.

My 2 cents on the tourney (and, heck, they're probably not even worth that!):

                            1. The tourney was a real coming out party for Yahel Hill. He's gonna be fun to watch for the next three years. He's already got us saying, "Sincere who?"

                            2. Bolon picked a really bad time to go into the worst multi-game slump of his two-year career. I hope he figures it out this week, because WLU will struggle to win without him.

                            3. It looked like NDC had a plan to get physical with WLU, and it clearly seemed to throw the young Hilltoppers off their rhythm. This doesn't bode well going into a tournament field filled with PSAC teams who will look to do the same. Here's hoping they don't draw a team like Mercyhurst in round 1.

                            4. Both Fairmont and WLU paid so much attention to Voorhees and Thurman (and rightly so). Both Mazulla and Howlett seemed to be daring Hodges and Sanders to beat you . . . and Hodges and Sanders beat them both. Really impressive tourney from the NDC "role players." They're making it much harder to double Voorhees. Unlike Concord who lack the role players to make you worry about anyone other than Bolte and Rodgers. Teams just let Malik Johnson throw up bricks all night long and it doesn't hurt when playing Concord. Well, that strategy isn't working against NDC anymore. If you take away the "big 2," Hodges and Sanders have just proven on back-to-back nights that they can step up and beat you.

                            5. And finally, Tim Koenig put on an absolute coaching clinic the last two nights against Fairmont and WLU. The press break he drew up was beautiful and led to far more run-out layups than WLU is used to giving up. Very few coaches have been able to carve it up quite like Koenig did tonight. And same story last night against FSU. Koenig appears to be a whip-smart coach who showed over the past two nights why he earned that Coach of the Year trophy. I just hope the tape of today's game somehow gets destroyed before other teams figure out what Koenig did out there.

I've watched Vorhees several games this year. He's a nice big. But, he's a nice big in a league with no bigs. Next week he's not going to have 6'5" guys on him. Cobo Diaz is a whole lot different than Meininger.

No question. He's a unicorn in our league and that allows him to put up big numbers. I think he has the possibility to get swallowed up by PSAC bigs (or even VSU bigs).
