I was in the building. WVSU just looked "off." No other way to say it--they were uninterested, uninspired, and just plain off. I wonder, too, if there was some kind of internal strife with the team. Pittman & Jordan, two of their starters and team leaders, didn't play the first 10 minutes. It seemed clear Poore was punishing them for something. So perhaps there was something internal that was causing the team to be so uninspired, but, man, if you can't get up for playoff games, what're you doing?

AB beat them two weeks ago and they looked the same. You could tell then and last night that Poore and Pittman had some issues.

Fairmont State women lead Glenville State 35-28 at the half. Fairmont had double-digit lead most of that half. Glenville closed it to 5 but a much-needed basket by Fairmont before the half puts them up 7. Glenville was stone cold that half as they missed a lot of close jumpers.

Glenville State takes a 3-point lead at the end of three quarters. Fairmont hanging tough but needs a second wind.

Glenville State advances to the championship game tomorrow by defeating Fairmont State by a score of 74-70. Fairmont was seeded 9th in the Atlantic Region this week but really looked like a NCAA tournament team today.

Key play: Fairmont down 70-67 with 2 minutes left. Deangelo drives for Fairmont and dishes for a layup but they call a phantom charge on Deangelo. Replay shows that was a clear no-call. You don't call that one especially against a 1st-team all conference player who made a great play. But they had their chances.

HC Kim Stephens wins the regular season MEC crown and now can play for the tournament championship after losing almost entire roster from last year's national championship team.

And hats off as always to the MEC for professional, quality broadcasts. Best in the country.

Charleston women up at the end of one 19-8. They have won this tournament in back-to-back years and really look today like they have in past seasons.

Charleston came in this tournament as the 8 seed in the Atlantic Region. 7 seed Lincoln lost in CIAA semi-finals; 6 seed IUP lost in first round to UPJ and 5 seed WV State lost in quarterfinals. Charleston playing like a team that knows a win today and they are in.

                          Halftime Charleston 35 Concord 22

UC really missed some opportunities to open up the lead in the last 3 possession and came up empty. Missed FTs, badly missed layup, etc. Concord hanging around.

Stephens has a well-oiled machine down there, and there's no shortage of players in the area who would be excited to play her up-tempo style. So the cupboard is almost never bare there. Hats off to her for what she's built.

Charleston opens it up to a 56-34 lead at the end of 3. This will be a great matchup in the championship game.

Inkblot, is Charleston in with a win today based on what happened in the other conferences with teams #5-7?
