Looks like all that is left for the PSAC championship is the seeding. With a week to play yet all you got left is the haves and the have nots.

The women's team doesn't worry me like the men's team does. The women were due for a clunker. They weren't mentally ready yesterday, shot poorly and the D left a lot to be desired. They won't have those problems on Saturday. If they can't get up for that game then they don't deserve to host a regional.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostChoke job for the ages.
That was one ugly performance.
The team was clearly looking ahead to Saturday. That's on Carey.

Yes. They definitely need to win Saturday or they are at risk for not hosting. All the time, effort, and hard work put into this season could come crashing down in a couple of weeks. And that would be a shame because talent wise I think IUP is superior to Gannon.

Two bad losses will do that. Those are two games you just can't lose!Originally posted by Bballfan View PostYes. They definitely need to win Saturday or they are at risk for not hosting. Some clearly unsolicited observations:
* The team hit a funk. It happens. Win this week and nobody will care about last week. Losing to Gannon is one thing. Losing to a team you beat by 31 a couple weeks earlier is inexcusable.
* When I know what plays IUP is calling, the other team certainly knows what plays IUP is calling. The offense has become very predictable.
* Craig Carey is out-thinking himself, and going too crazy with subbing. IUP put some lineups on the floor in the Gannon game that were simply mind-boggling. Play your best players. This isn't rocket science. They all have their varsity letters by now. In March, Weaver and Maggio need to be on the floor dang-near at all times.
* Last (4) games from outside: 3-11, 6-23, 2-16 and 3-15. That's 14-65 (21.5%). Not good.
* It wouldn't take much film review of the past two games to see the number of self-inflicted TOs IUP has committed. This stuff cannot be happening this time of year. Forcing a TO and giving it back a second later doesn't help anything.
* Every game won't be pretty. Hopefully IUP got the bad stuff out of its system. Shooting funks end. New week. New season. The games that really matter start Wednesday.

Carey sat Wilkerson in the 4th when she got her the under two minutes in and it looked to me like the biggest self own. I think he sat her for 4 minutes and to me it was a huge strategic failure. She's a terror defensively and Gannon built their lead while she sat with 4 fouls. If you can't trust your senior with 4 fouls in a game at the end of the season, it speaks to more issues imo. Gannon's former doofus coach, Brunelli, did this with Nettie Blake in the first round of the regional in 2013 and a lead was lost and game lost as a result. It's such a tell the coach doesn't trust and is coaching tight imo.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostSome clearly unsolicited observations:

Carey is lucky he's got the depth this year he hasn't had, but their weak SOS seems to be haunting him. He's not had to coach a lot of close games this season. And it shows in his rotations.

Joe's attendance the past (6) seasons:
--Season Average Gate 19-20 2,051 21-22 1,433 22-23 2,126 23-24 1,430 24-25 662 25-26 754
