And the Wolves took down Butler. I am pretty sure we have had another significant one...didnt someone beat Marquette or Wisconsin or something?

Yes, Danimal hit one at the buzzer.

Biggest upset in college basketball history might have been NAIA Chaminade Silverswords beating top ranked Virginia with Ralph Sampson in 1982.

This article on that game is worth reading. I didn't know that Chaminade went on to beat Louisville in 1983 and 1984 and much more recently Texas.

I remember the Texas game. Maybe could schedule a Wichita state or something

It depends on the school, etc. It can be as little as putting the team up in a nice place and barely covering the team travel expenses to around $10-$25k on top of that. That isn't the case so much anymore though as there are soooo many schools to choose from.
