I wasn't at the game last night (the threat of freezing drizzle scared me off the road trip) and I didn't see any physical stuff from Wicks on the broadcast, so I can't speak specifically to that. I've not seen anything physical from him in the games I have attended, and my seats are a couple of rows up behind the bench. I'll say this - Missouri Western has embraced him. Attendance at home was up almost 500 this year; not all of that is because of Wicks, but his energy and enthusiasm and his efforts at community and campus outreach have built a lot of good will in a short amount of time.Originally posted by Taxman View Posthttps://twitter.com/nwbearcatwbb/sta...91975080869890
My guess is the very end of this video is the beginning of what was referenced. I will say it stood out to me last night as well.
Ben's emotion stood out as well.
FWIW, Ben got his T for slamming a dry erase board during a TO and a couple pieces of it went on the floor.

Re: NWMSU
I suppose it is, and he wasn't there long enough to really be considered a legend, I'll give you that. KU is arguably the worst Division I program in all of football and what he was able to do with that dumpster fire of a program was kind of a little bit legendary. The ineptitude of that program before and especially after Mangino has been remarkable. Maybe Les Miles will be able to make them relevant again. It is what it is... A more accurate description, I guess would have been to say "well liked by the fanbase" instead of legend.Last edited by Alfred33; 02-27-2019, 01:00 PM.

Re: NWMSU
Amazing regular season Bearcats! I think they said first undefeated MIAA regular season since Southwest Missouri State (Missouri State) in the 60's... pretty cool, especially considering coming into the season, we didn't really know what we had, replacing 4 starters. As a fan, I'd love to see them win the conference tournament, but not playing 3 games in 4 days might do them good towards the overall goal. I'm certain that they're not thinking that way and want to run the table all the way through a National Championship. Ben probably practices them as hard as they would play anyway.
Last night's game was a complete game on both ends. Still not lighting it up like we were up until a few weeks ago, (I think we were getting spoiled) but shot it better... Welty bounced back from his 0-7 3 point performance against MoWest and shot a more Welty-like 4-6. The defense was stifling, and Washburn was atrocious from the field last night. That's a good win in a tough place... hopefully the MoWest game was the wakeup call that provides a springboard for postseason play.Last edited by Alfred33; 03-01-2019, 11:01 AM.

Re: NWMSU
Pretty impressive season so far and they did it down an assistant coach. Short story on Bryston and his opportunity in the NBA that lead to the team being down an assistant.
