UIU handles SMSU in Fayette 67-56...lead by 14 at half. Was a grinder of a game, SMSU slowed things down a bit, played good D, but they couldn't hit much as UIU played locked down D as well. Held Byers to 4 ponits. UIU had some pretty big double digits leads in second half, but SMSU hung around tough.

Kelby Kramer didn't play for the Mavs last night, that saddens me.

Yeah was a weird game - SMSU played some pretty good D throughout to be honest, really made UIU work and doubled up on Smoldt and pressed and trapped full court. They just couldn't hit anything either and UIU slowly built a lead...we played really good D as well. I've been very happy with how UIU has played without Williams. Lost in OT to Winona after he was hurt at end of first half, battled back and had lead late against Augie at their place, but couldn't finish, the only real game they weren't close to pulling out was at Northern where they lost by 9. He as you know is good for anywhere from 18-30 a game. If anything I think it's made the rest of team pick things up in terms of scoring and rebounding. Need to finish regular season strong and hope he is back for tournament!
