Lol! I think so. But they are giants compared to our previous 5'4 guard.

      • The Lady Lions just picked up another 2024 commitment per Twitter. Grace Frazier, a 5'3 guard out of Diamond, MO. Another local girl who is just 20 minutes or so from Joplin. Hoping to find success with another small guard from a local high school. She put up some huge scoring numbers last year and led her team to Sectionals.

I was getting worried you all wouldn't be keeping your 5'6" average height with the 6'1" girl who verballed...this one help bring that average back down! :)

                • Ronnie is definitely trying to challenge our ladies this year and to see what this team is made of. Playing the first 7 games and 11 of the first 13 games away from Joplin. Looking forward to watching this team!

                  • The Lady Lions just added another 2024 commit. Ava Pautz, a 6'0 wing from Notre Dame Prepatory in Arizona just committed on Saturday. That's now 4 commitments in the 2024 class.

                    • The MOSO ladies played an exhibition game at Wichita State tonight losing 75-65. The ladies kept it competitive the whole game leading by 5 after one quarter, trailing by 4 at half, and 10 after 3 quarters. The game was tied midway thru the 3rd quarter before Wichita State closed the quarter on a 10-0 run. Sounds like a typical exhibition game with both teams being very sloppy. MOSO had 27 turnovers and Wichita State had 21. Kryslyn Jones led the way with 23 points, followed by Ryan Franklin with 14 points and 9 rebounds, and Kaitlin Hunnicutt with 10 points. The Lions faced a former MIAA player in Tre'zure Jobe, who is starting for Wichita State and led them in minutes and points.

Ronnie was very happy with tonight's game, and talked a lot about fixing two very correctable things ... turnovers and free throw shooting. He was very happy with the effort, defense, and rebounding. Ronnie feels like if the ladies clean up a couple of things, this team can win a lot of games. But the nonconference schedule is so tough and this league is so tough, it will be interesting to see how this team does.

                      • Good debuts by two former Lions at the D1 level this week. Lacy Stokes had 18 points and 5 assists in Missouri State's win on Monday night. Cam Martin had a double-double in Boise State's win last night with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Really just hard to believe. He’s starting his 7th year of collegiate basketball. Scored nearly 2,000 points in three seasons at Missouri Southern.

My youngest had some classes with Cam at Southern, and both are almost 26 and still in school. Mine is working on his doctorate now - I think Cam will wind up with a couple of degrees as well.

                            • Great day for Missouri Southern! The ladies started the day with a win over Henderson State to start their season 2-0. The men beat Bemidji State to earn a split for the weekend. Then the football team closed the day by upsetting MoWest to finish the year 5-6, which is our best record for several years.

                              • Last week was a tough week for MOSO basketball with the men going 0-3 and the ladies 1-2. The men got swept by GLVC teams. You can tell that the men are trying to mix in their new pieces and are struggling doing so. Hope they can start to come together and play well as a team and start making some shots. The ladies lost to two very good teams on the road ... Southern Nazarene and Angelo State, before blowing out Midwestern State from the LSC. Hope this tough early schedule has prepared the ladies for the start of MIAA play. This first week of MIAA play will be very challenging for both teams with games at Northwest and MoWest.
