Bachand was stellar, especially considering the lack of height, we have Doyle and Evans, Decker hasn't done much over his time but can fill holes. We have so much talent to utilize and we have cropped away too many games.

The plus size is we haveany close loses, we lose Mack but get Tanner back, add Kallman and Fox who in my opinion will start or play a lot next year, we have a bright future, and still a shot this year, but have to figure it out.

I think he he frets about matchups too much. Put your 5 best out there and let the other coach worry about matchups. That is why they don't even have a dual post set when any other coach would.

Congrats BSU Beavers for a nice road win.

If it's any consolation Wolves' fans, just squeak out a home win in the first round of the NSIC tourney, and then try to hit the road where you are 10-1 (11-2 counting neutral sites).

When in the hunt for a conference title there is no consolation, we play like we did this weekend and we shouldn't even be allowed on the tourney. Pure garbage

Twice now you've posted about the future looking bright and haven't mentioned Paterka being healthy again next year. Is he not coming back next season or do you just not think about him when you're thinking about next year?

Agreed. Peterka coming back is huge. I'm hoping he just spaced it out.

I wrote Tanner instead of Darren....don't ask me why. There have been a lot of Paterkas thay came out of Miller, though I don't know there has ever been a Tanner, ha

So....I didn't see the game, but given comments went and looked at some stats and play by play to see if they backed up comments. First, there was only a difference of 2 fouls between teams, Mankato 20 UIU 18. Ft's UIU 13-17, Mankato 14-20. Pretty even overall. I next went and looked at play by play starting at the 8:41 mark in 2nd half when Mankato was up by 15...to see if fouls got UIU back in game.

7:45 2pt by UIU...foul during sequence, but did not lead to layup. +12

3:55 2pt by UIU....Mankato missed shot during their possession and foul on rebound...but did not lead to UIU pts...+7

I really don't see how fouls got UIU back in game, several missed shots and TO's by Mankato and timely shots by UIU allowed them to crawl back in. There wasn't a disparity in fouls called or FT's attempted (Mankato had more).

That kind of makes it difficult to make an argument either way then...

To give you an extremely short-winded answer. INCONSISTENCY! You will absolutely not see any poor calls in the boxscore or play-by-play, so that was pretty much a waste of time for comparison sake. The technicals (outside of the 2 on Margenthaler which were extremely legit) were a joke. The first double T happened as a UIU player pushed Austin to the floor, purposely. The ref came in and IMMEDIATELY called it a double T. He was nowhere close enough to have heard anything being said if that was his rationale for T'ing up a guy who just got thrown to the ground. Same ref called another double T later in the game which was terrible. Gave Fuqua yet another non-foul, foul.

This isn't why the Mavs lot the game. They blew it. But in this particular instance, they had plenty of help along the way.

That's only for preseason player of the year.

Last year Player of the Year was just Jansen. Year before that it was Jansen and Riewer, but that's because it was a split in the voting, not a North/South thing.

Ah, already forgot last year and the co-winners must have confused me, I appreciate the clarification. Only one trophy is how it should be. Then yes, give the award to Davis right now.
