Hand up, I thought Arhman could be that guy but his shooting numbers are not playable right now. It's unfortunate, he was a lot of fun to watch the second half of his freshmen season and now he's barely getting minutes at his third school in three years. Life comes at you fast.Last edited by Augieholic; 12-15-2025, 01:01 PM.

Agree. And I expect a different look to the roster next year, with Mr Lewis to be at his 4th school in 4 years. There are some good pieces, but they need a chess master to move them.Originally posted by Augieholic View Post

Expect it’s a lot harder to get the D1 drops now that they can move to another D1 without having to sit out a year.Originally posted by GHawks View Post
I don’t think their problems are fixable. Gotta have dudes. They don’t. I think it’s that simple.
I think they gotta go back to trying to get more d1 transfers. They hit the absolute jackpot on 3 D2 guys in 2024 but have struck out on them since.

I agree, but I think MSU is in about as good a place as anyone to compete for those guys. Big school, great facility and a recent national title to show it can be done. MSUM and Augie and even CSP have proven they can get guys like that the last few years.Originally posted by DapperDan View Post

Arhman and the guard play as a whole hasn’t been great but just as big if not bigger an issue is that they’ve been out-rebounded in 4 of 5 conference games (and were only +3 in the 5th against Winona) while running predominantly a double-big lineup. The only advantage of that kind of lineup in modern basketball is to dominate teams on the glass which they don’t do.Originally posted by Augieholic View Post

It isn’t a fun place to be, searching for positives in a season full of negatives. But alas, that’s where Maverick men’s basketball is currently sitting.Originally posted by GHawks View Post

Makes me glad both teams play each night. Ha.

During timeouts in past seasons, I noted a clearly bald top of head with hair on sides closely shaven. Wiecks full head of hair is the result of surgical plugs from back and sides to top. Painful I'm told.Originally posted by Augieholic View PostI turned on Jamestown vs UMD just to see Wieck with the new hair and it is JARRING. How are we not talking about this more?
Also the Jamestown announcers have energy, statistical knowledge, and a nice dash of homerism. Top tier streaming experience in the conferences.

Why, people? Why? Just go bald gracefully.... I am, have accepted it and I just keep it cut short.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View Post

I was at The Barn once when the Goofers were playing Purdue and Gene Keady was the coach. A timeout was called and he decided to chew on one of the refs. He got going so hard that his comb over flopped, and I swear, it went down to his shoulder. Without missing a beat, he took his hand and flopped it back on top and just kept chewing away.Millsy

Had a boss many years ago with a massive combover in the wind, it was like a sail. Started becoming follically impaired in my 40's, cut it short and haven't used a comb since...Now that's freedom.Originally posted by Millsy View Post

I moved this important conversation over to the junk drawer in the football thread 😆Originally posted by vikingfaithful View Post

I thought I witnessed a lot of lazy passes against SW and just a complete lack of cohesion. The only positive was AJ Bender getting good minutes and looking like a player.
Mavs had 19 TOs and SW had 16 steals. Crazy. SW made some good plays on some of those to get the steals, but the passing was so terrible.
