Kentucky Wesleyan Basketball

Schools are awful at getting their bball schedules up for the coming year, but some schools have. Union's women's schedule indicates they will be playing a at tipoff classic at Kentucky Wesleyan in early November. Tipoff classics typically are the week before the regular season starts. No idea if this is a men/women's event, but would be nice if it was. Owensboro is a nice venue to watch hoop. Knowing how KWC gets their schedules up though, might be an announcement about November 1st.

I hope the guy is great...but got a letter from Coach Cooper in my email and he was gushing about this new recruit.

His averages last year at UND....Averaged 1.9 points, 0.4 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.1 blocks per game across 20 appearances off the bench.

I hope he rules

I wonder when we will hear anything about next year

[Lawson]

I hope thats true...but I renewed my season tickets this year thinking I'd get all the games.....but then the schedule came out and it had three games on campus. I have a feeling that will be the norm going forward.

Now, I still got to go to those games for free if I wanted, but obviously the seats and atmosphere were not the same

[Bballfan]

I am not sure how they could. The gym on campus certainly isn't acceptable for D2 basketball games, even if they did play some there this year.

I love KWC basketball.....I've been going to games for 45 years....my family has had the same season tickets in Section KK (now 101) since the early 60's.

Some of my most cherished sports memories are being in a full SportsCenter chanting KWC while watching Rod Drake, Dwight Higgs, John Worth, Corey Crowder etc.

I've kept those season tickets now that they are my responsibility even though I don't live in Owensboro. But a lot of the reason is the nostalgia of being 10 and sitting in those exact seats with my Dad or sitting in them with my brother when we were a little older.

If they end up moving most of the games on campus (which probably makes sense, since they only draw about 500 now), I won't be going to too many more games.

I'll still keep up on their scores and want them to do well.....but one of the last vestiges of my youth will be gone. I'm kinda sad about it

Long bus ride home is what that was. For both the men and the women. The women were actually up 31 - 16 at the half, but somehow managed to lose by 11.

Coop has preached about turnovers all year and they just had 15 in the first half. I get LE traps full court but 80% of those turnovers weren't forced. PATHETIC display.

That's a long trip from Wesleyan to Lake Erie.

Of course any trip in the GMAC is pretty long with Wesleyan.

[Lawson]

Now I hope for 17-12....but our road record does not lend itself to optimism

[Lawson]

Just gotta win Saturday to make my prediction 100%

Also, is the game free on Saturday?

[Lawson]

I think my 16-12 prediction is looking pretty good

[Lawson]

We won a road game…..amazing

[Lawson]

10-6…..win our home games….get smoked on the road….we are just a middlin’ team…..is what it is

[pantherfan]

Up to 8-4. Team definitely has athleticism, but they pass like middle schoolers. Seems to have maybe tightened up a bit, but only time will tell. Big road trip coming up before a home stand next weekend. Really need some wins here to start the year if they have any hope of decent conference finish.

I'm very interested in these HRC games. Haven't heard a word about them, only saw the tickets aren't in season ticket bundle. The girls played there this week and admission was free. If they do that for the men, I'm fine with it. But will season ticket holders receive no preferred seating option? That seems like a huge miss in my opinion, though as a holder I realize I am certainly biased.
