Don't even get me started on Oakland City... Most of the MW board regulars know how I feel about that situation. And, as I recall, the unofficial reports were that Salem was kicked out of the G-MAC (or some variation thereof). I thought Salem was going to drop to the NAIA, to be honest.

FWIW I agree with you on Oakland City. They shouldn't count as a D2 game. Fact is, they do ... so you can hardly fault schools for playing them when they're within such a close radius. Believe me, though, I'd much rather see us play a USI or Bellarmine or even UMSL or Indy or someone like that that is maybe a little farther away but still a better game.

For the record, I've never heard a credible explanation regarding their departure. They turned around and scheduled most of the former G-MAC teams for out-of-conference games this year, so I wouldn't think there is much (if any) bad blood. I still wonder if their status as a for-profit institution was a hindrance. There is a lot of language in the G-MAC bylaws that references non-profit status.

Don't look now, but S&T isn't bad. I fully expect their coach to screw them up by the end of the year, but they just beat 4-0 Missouri Southern right after beating 4-0 Lincoln. Both those teams will likely finish top half of the MIAA.

In other news, Drury freshman Isaac Johnson pours in 31 to lead Drury past Emporia State yesterday. Drury hasn't seen a performance like that from a freshman since Alex Hall lit up Southwest Baptist for 33 in his first collegiate game.

Huge win by Parkside at Ferris. One of those rare road wins against a likely 75% team. Where's the Indy guy who said Parkside wasn't any good? Guess Indy will find out since they play Parkside next.

He's too busy trying to figure out why "crappy" Truman St is 4-1 with the 6th best PI in the region.

I think both the GLIAC and GLVC will be very top-heavy this year, making for a lot of excitement throughout. The GLVC has some of the standard really good teams looking the part again -- Bellarmine, Southern Indiana, Drury, UW-Parkside -- as well as some others who have been loitering but look like they have the right mix of upperclassmen/intangibles that are ready to compete this year -- Truman, Quincy, Missouri S&T(?).

It's a good thing neuter jmh turned down Reigel and Todd franklin. Big winner Bruce Weber told him Wodney Rotson will bring USI national championships. Plural.

They are not as good s last year. I notice you didn't mouth off two weeks ago when they got smashed by one of the Michigan schools. UWP is a average team, they should beat UIndy this game at UWP. UIndy is terrible right now, some of the transfers not working out. Two have been benched, not a good sign for the Hounds.
