I hope that you didn't take offense with my post as I meant it to be positive towards KWC. I do though believe that if they don't win the GMAC tourney, that they leave themselves open to being left out of the tourney due to their weak SOS. I fully expect them to win will enjoy watching them play if they do.

I did not. I am just stating a perspective that I know is going on in talks around the basketball offices of the current favorites to host.

Larger and larger with every game...Right now, BU and USI are tied for first, but BU owns the first two tiebreakers over USI with head-to-head and divisional record. At the moment, it actually helps BU that they lost to a West team instead of an East team.

If both teams are still tied at the end of the season (very possible at this point), then you can bet USI brings their "A" game - first to avenge the loss that the Knights handed them and second to break that tie.

Indianapolis will be a huge factor this week. I think that they will give both USI and BU some fits, but they should both come away with a road win - enough to turn it into a 3-dog race to the finish along with UWP.

I still haven't seen any update for when the McKendree/Jewell game will be made up. Not that anybody cares, as both teams are currently dead last in each division.

Huge week for Drury on the West side as well, as losses at both Truman and Quincy would put DU (likely) three games back of Truman in the division with just seven games to go (with a road trip at USI and BU ahead the following weekend). The other thing DU has going for it is the GLVC tiebreaker, where only a road win is counted in a head-to-head should the teams in question only meet once during the regular season. Winning at one, or both, would be huge in DU's quest to repeat as division champ because then not even a tie would help TSU or QU later this season.

Big game tonight with Ferris playing at Grand Valley. Its the last true road test for Ferris so their last chance to pick up some PI points. There is Wayne St. too but they are slipping fast. Also the best chance to hang a loss on them for the rest of the season. BU and USI could use a little breathing room with a Ferris loss.

Ferris barely squeaked out of Michigan Tech on Sat. 77-76 final. Findlay just can't seem to get rolling...every time they start to receive votes in the poll they've dropped a game.

I think that everyone in the GLVC can get behind GVSU tonight. Right now there is a real chance that we could all be going to Ferris for the tournament. Honestly, if I were seeding the tournament right now, Ferris would probably get the #1 seed. That is partly based on their victory over BU last season, which may not be a proper consideration.

I'm not sure that would be proper. I think the rankings would be about the same as the PI right now. BU has a few bigger wins than Ferris which would just be enough to give them the edge. Looking at common opponents, BU and Ferris have wins over Quincy and Lewis, but Ferris lost to Parkside at home while BU won at home. Ferris beat SVSU on the road (and will probably beat them again at home) while BU lost to SVSU at a neutral site (albeit 20 miles from SVSU.) The common opponents is pretty much a wash then except Ferris has the mortal sin of losing at home to Parkside. Ferris also lost to Findlay at home. BU has defended their home turf. BU's three losses were to slightly stronger teams than Ferris' 3 losses. Right now I think BU's wins over Huntsville and USI are the difference and gives BU the slight edge.

4 horse race to the top may be accurate. The more important question for many teams is how many horses are in the race to the 8th spot. Its interesting that the GLVC has five of the top eight spots right now, but the GLIAC completely dominates 9-14, with Drury being the only GLVC rep in that range. This means that it is entirely plausable that the GLIAC will end up with a majority of teams in the tournament if things go badly for the "ranked" teams in the GLVC. Of course the reason this is not real likely is that those GLIAC teams have to play each other, so somebody has to take the losses. The way it has gone thus far, its likely that those losses will be spread fairly evenly among the GLIAC contenders.

Right now there are only 5 teams in the 75% threshold for wins. This means that there are only a few opportunities for contending teams to get that big road win over a 75% team. If Drury could go on a two game win streak this weekend, they would probably vault into the top eight (although I haven't done the math). USI should also have the opportunity in the last game of the regular season. If they win out, the win over Bellarmine would likely spring them into first.

Not a new revelation, but watch out for Indy. Up five spots with the win last night. I think they are going to make the NCAA, maybe without winning the conf tournament. With games against Quincy, Lewis, Rockhurst and Parkside still remaining they would appear to have the opportunity to make the cut. Of course, they are going to have to win those games.

I was thinking the same thing. Not a pleasant prospect for the top seed if Indy lands in at #8. Actually the way they are playing now, assuming they make the field, they're going to be extremely dangerous no matter what seed they get. Question is whether it's too little too late.
