Me too, but apparently those schools aren't ready to join.

Scenarios where I guess it makes more sense:
    1) other MI schools are also coming (whether that be Davenport of a current NAIA)
    2) TNU and KWC are leaving
    3) NU wants to add a bunch of sports that the GLIAC doesn't offer (Men's Lacrosse, Wresting, Bowling, etc)
    4) NU caught wind that other schools are leaving the GLIAC and it proactively made sure it had a home.

If none of those are in the works, I'm still completely puzzled.

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I honestly think this move has more to do with the GLIAC than the GMAC. I would bet NU caught wind of a Ferris or GVSU moving up, and sensed an implosion of the GLIAC as a result. The move makes no sense to me either, if I were NU, I would have been hyper focused on trying to help the GLIAC survive by adding some schools.

I would bet TNU and KWC are eventually gone, but no idea when. Someone has to do the travel math eventually and realize there is another option for both those schools (KWC to GLVC? TNU to GSC?)

For some reason, I can't update my prior post. Lets see if this works:

Interesting, its always hard to tell what is genuine positivity for simply white-washed coach (or admin in this case) speak in order to not rock any boats.

It's on the GMAC website. Click on ABOUT and you'll see Expansion Tracker.

Finally added Northwood to the Expansion Tracker today. I think we're good for now.

Ya, I know some would think that it could drive enrollment, but I would imagine big D1 schools seem to have the budget and the resources to serve the vast majority of people who are into marching band. There is also a competitive network of bands that are independent of schools and include mostly college kids, so I imagine that also plays a role (I only know this cuz like the main national competition is held in Indianapolis every year).
