Happy would be the first to tell you he doesn't care and it doesn't mean anything. Which, when it comes down to it, it doesn't. But damn. As a fan, I'm used to being disrespected by the GLVC bunch but now we're going to get it from our own conference? Wow.

All it means is that there's a few coaches in the conference who don't like him for whatever reason. Hesser didn't win GLVC COY in 2013 when he won the GLVC, won a national championship and was the COY for all of NCAA-II. Nyla Milleson (who was our girl's coach at the time) didn't win it in 2006 when she was 30-3 and a perfect 19-0 in the league!

It's ridiculous that grown adults are like that, but these are popularity contests with some basketball thrown in.

Wasn't there a discussion on here not too long ago regarding Zimmerman not having a great sideline/gameday demeanor? (I know nothing about the merits, I just remember a discussion among others) Now the prevailing thought seems to be that he's Mr Popular among his peers (who mostly see him on gameday)? Color me confused. Must be one heck of a guy when he's not game-day irritated?

I'd blame the results on KWC fatigue, but AB has won 2 of 3 championships and Zimmerman has won 3 of 4 COY awards. If anything, we should have AB fatigue.

I agree with whats cited above.

Living in DC, the only KWC conference game I went to was @ D&E.....and Bracy-Davis looked really good. I understand that pick.

But, come on. Going undefeated in the conference and being the only nationally ranked team has got to get you Coach of the Year.

SC is used for lots of games. A full day schedule of basketball. HS games are scheduled early college games come late so get early morning games. everything about Owensboro and the SC is nice except game times.

Only thing worst than Happy not COY is no girls making the G-MAC team. MVP is always tough but history is the best player on the best team. The best player on a team with a 12-14 record??..na

KHSAA 3rd Region tournament sells out usually. The Sportscenter is crammed pack full of high school students, parents, teachers, fans, media, etc.. The winner goes to Rupp Arena for the Sweet 16. The 3rd Region tournament has to be played at night. I hate it too, but what can you do?

I had typed out a long post to try to explain myself. Forget it. I would probably be looked at as a complainer or crying around. Whatever.

I understand the high school regionals being scheduled well in advance. I get that. I don't blame KWC on that.

However, I do believe the conference needs to develop a Friday-Saturday-Sunday concept for multiple reasons that would improve attendance and be more fan-friendly. If games are going to have to be played in the morning/afternoon, then playing games on Saturday and Sunday afternoon would give you a better chance to improve attendance and get more working people to the games. It would also give fans traveling a better chance to watch their teams and only have to miss one day of work at most. League officials/presidents of schools and ADs know this conference is spread out geographically. I could go into greater detail, but like I said...

I agree, Fri, Sat & Sun would be nice. However, some schools do NOT like playing on Sunday. I get there reason.... being faith based and all. Still, the product would be better with weekend games.
