It has been confirmed...you never know how 19/ 20 year olds are going to play.
For sure.
I missed the game entirely (I was at my daughters' equally disastrous HS soccer game, where seemingly ever kid is dealing with a new or nagging injury. They were going down on the field one after another. My Sophomore daughter is one of them. If there is any silver lining - its that my Freshman daughter is getting an awful lot of playing time).
Anyway, After looking at the box score and write-up, I'm at least glad to see that Bennett did not play (well I wish he did; but score-wise, I'm glad to see this wasn't full strength). He went out with an injury during the KWC game on Saturday. Hopefully nothing too serious. So, hopefully he is back soon (and Linkous, if/when). Maybe when they get some of the missing pieces back they can still make a late-season run. I'm trying hard to remain a little optimistic.
BTW - the Florida Southern transfer has had a disappointing season so far (and went 0-7 last night).
Wesleyan takes it's losses in every sport. I realize there are some who might feel threatened with the way the men's basketball league is going. Through expansion next season, it will not get any easier.
League officials should stay on top of behavior unbecoming of conference standards, and every team should be held accountable.
NCAA competition on this level is about building character and improving the scholar athlete.
With the upcoming expansion, the competition will be greater and certain teams may not like it. Accepting a loss with integrity is the Wesleyan Way. However, behavior and standards must be guarded by each team in the G-MAC.
I don't like losing, but in my old age I would rather every athletic team and scholar athlete at Wesleyan be good people and graduate, regardless of how the seasons go.
KWC won by 24 points. One of our players had to go get stitches. I saw what happened concerning the play. Other programs seem to posess various behavior and trends as well.
We'll see how it plays out. Our total travel budget with football will probably be the largest in the G-MAC next season.
Don't take KWC for granted in the G-MAC. The college has overcome a large obstacle, and the college will move forward. That especially will be true for the athletic department. What's wrong with requesting conference officials reviewing the game?
I'm sensing a pattern here. Seems like every team that plays KWC is dirty.
Not true. We just don't hesitate to call it out when we see it. This is the first game in a while where I truly felt the opponent was over the line, and it didn't help that the officials didn't make any effort to get it under control.

Alrighty then. I just recalled this, below, and all the other, "opponent body slammed us" type comments from the past.

Ohio Valley trying to trash talk, pushing shoving starting fights. Pathetic display. They did the same thing in the Sportscenter last year. Not our problem they're the worst team in D2 - no need to play dirty. I hope we beat them by 100.
