Well a GLVC team hasn't won a women's regional tournament game since Drury in 2023, so I definitely was surprised they beat a veteran Ferris team. Ferris was probably looking ahead, which is a big no no this time of year.

I'm sure UMSL's loss to Northwood had nothing to do with the Triton's thin bench and the fact six players totaled 198 minutes the day before against Ferris, who were held to 30% from the field by the Triton's over rated defense. The 7 of 9 from 3 by UMSL's freshman guard (who scored 25 points) was probably luck. In fact, I think after the Tritons scored 33 points in the fourth against Ferris, the Tritons became over confident and just overlooked Northwood.

Hey the GLVC women did do better than the GLVC men. And the men's teams are usually stronger in the region.

Hey, at least the GLVC Tournament runner up beat the consensus 2nd best team in the GLIAC who were "GLAD" to be facing UMSL!
