Two things - Cal Baptist went D1. There are some schools in Mexico that are trying to join NCAA and they have football too.

Outside of WWU, how many of those schools had programs? Has any school closed down it's program and come back in the history of D2?

Has any school closed down it's program and come back in the history of D2?

CSU Pueblo dropped football in 1984, picked it up again in 2008 and got Nat Champ in 2014.

When the Southern Colorado Indians folded in 1984 they were NAIA and then came back as D2 because the entire school moved up to D2.

That would be Larry Allen from the Dallas Cowboys. We played senior year of high school ball together. He was a man among boys when he wanted to smack someone down.
