California has 39 million people and 22 D2 schools. What in the hell??!!

Only two (soon to be one next year) have football programs though.

In terms of schools with football programs, the west coast is pretty sparse:

• Washington: 4 d2 schools, 1 with football (CWU)
• Oregon: 2, 1 (Western Oregon)
• California: 22, 2 (Humboldt, Azusa Pacific)
• Alaska: 2, 0

Nevada and Idaho are pretty sparse too.

Oh, I just clicked the links for US NCAA programs, but yeah there's at least 1 program in BC

Between moving up to D1 (UC Davis) and schools folding their programs (Cal State Heyward/East Bay comes to mind; I'm sure there are a few other UC/CSU schools which have also dropped football over the years), college football at the smaller UC/Cal State schools are becoming a thing of the past.

That would be Larry Allen from the Dallas Cowboys. We played senior year of high school ball together. He was a man among boys when he wanted to smack someone down.
