Carson-Newman runs the veer and cut blocks like crazy. That's hard to prep for in camp for the first game of the season. C-N has storied success with that offense. Austin Reed didn't start that game. Argos lost by 7.

Valdosta State was the defending national champs and won the GSC title by defeating the Argos late in the season by 5 in a game the Blazers led 20-0 at the half.
    Go GSC and Roar LIONS!!

    • Both schools have the attendance for this game listed as 3,415.

If that's official, it would be the lowest attendance since 1997 and the third-lowest attendance since the division was established in 1973.

Also, I'm confused how the supposed best player in D2 struggled against a pass defense that gave up 6 TDs and 500+ yards today. Getting fat on those cupcakes.
The weather play a big part but West Florida offensive line better hands down.

There were several injuries during the season in the OL and the young guys filled in well. Mike Dilla (Jr) and Jacob Bruce (R-Fr) started on the right side in the championship game, Dalton Simpler (R-So) also saw action. The Argos do lose a lot on both sides of the ball, but if they can keep Reed upright they should be able to score on anybody.
Along with some Division 1 transfers we got alot when Hatcher was our coach

Distance wasn't an issue last year, we drove 22 hours each way and nearly out-drew Valdosta. The bigger issue was that the game was the week after the semester ended. It's more inconvenient to drive back to school a week into winter break than leave a day after finals wrap up.

And the money. If you bring the family here at Christmas time that's a lot of $$$$. And for some, city and county taxes are also due at the end of the year.

Doesn't this low attendance figure shoots down the argument that the game has to be near a major airport to have good attendance?

Not challenging you... I just don't know. Can you describe some of the events there? TIA

You touched on why the game won't be back in KC. That was such a wiener move to do it part way through the season, the NCAA won't go back to that place.
