The "data" is accurate, what is lacking is a uniformed method of evaluating the data. Nothing preventing the regional committee and the national committee from evaluating the data points and how they relate to each other in any way they want to. Also nothing preventing the individual voters from evaluating the data differently for each individual team.

I recall a story from a number of years ago told by one of the at the Regional Committee members in which this person said that the Regional Committee had met and hammered out their playoff selectees and seedings and submitted it to the National Committee. Nattional Committee almost immediately returned the list to them with the instruction that they didn't give enough consideration to a particular criteria and that they should adjust their recomendation based on that. They did and and poof, one team in and one team out.

No...Quite the opposite. If each Regional Committee member and each National Committee member apply the criteria differently, that's the opposite of a uniformed method of evaluation.
