Update on Reed is that he and Caleb Williams had same QB coach and trained together this off season and that Williams is excited about Reed joining up with Bears. Their QB coach also trained Brock Purdy and says Reed is this year's Purdy, especially since they upped his spin rate from 500's to NFL Level 600's in off season by tweaking his mechanics. It will be interesting to see this Bears preseason with Williams and the two D2 QBs, Reed and Bagent. .

I followed him since his time at UWF - especially since they played the Mavs in 2019. Been rooting for him ever since. Happy to see he goes to the league and I think he'll be in the league for a while.

Kind of a neat moment but UWF announced the signing on Twitter and he responded saying it meant a lot to him for his former school to acknowledge it.

He’s already got a computer science job locked up and has a standing offer from the Toronto Argonauts (rejoining his former DB Mason Pierce). But how could you pass up a shot to play in the pros. Even if it’s not QB, I could see Matocha doing a Julian Edelman type transition.

The D2 tracker lists 5 D2 QB signed by NFL teams not counting Bagent and Reed on the Bears. I realize that doesn’t mean they make the roster or actually play in the regular season, but do these numbers suggest a turning point for D2 QB in NFL? I don’t recall any prior year having this many signed to teams.

I would say he's more elusive than fast, not sure how it will translate to the NFL but hopefully he has a good showing at camp.
