  • Best non conference games for 2025..

This will be a topic for our D2 Spring podcast, but figured I would start it here. I’m on the road right now, but I’d like to gather the top 10 or more best games for week zero and so forth.

First that come to mind are MIAA centric to some extent..

    Pitt at Ferris in W0
    NW at Mankato, W0
    GV at Pitt, W2
    Pueblo at UCM, W2

Wow, Pitt really scheduling hard. Their first 3 weeks (with UCO in the middle) have to be the toughest start in the country.

According to Argonut, they have no chance to win the title then.

Pitt has no chance to win the title, not because of our 3 games against playoff teams, though.

Wayne State and Nebraska-Kearney will have little national bearing, but a fun regional rivalry that is making a return.

UNK opens the season with a 3-game rivalry series. WSC followed by Chadron and Hays.

New Haven hosts Slippery Rock in (I think) week 1.

Craig, if you get any firm info on that plz post. That’s a very good non-con (again) that would be matching up playoff squads.

I’ve heard word of UNK coming up to USF for a spring game, fwiw. Those kinda things seldom have a press release and info on team pages..but I wish we knew more about those mutual-practices as well.

I've heard those rumors as well. I know there was a little publicity about the scrimmage with Concordia St Paul last year in Council Bluffs so I'm hoping the word gets out a little bit again this year if/when it's finalized.

That is the toughest 4 game start I have seen. 3 of the most physical and one or 2 of the faster teams in the country. Yikes!

I hope I'm wrong, but I think Pitt will be super lucky if they make the playoffs. I could see them with anywhere from 4 to 7 losses in 25.

This is where I got it, and I’m thinking it’s week 1 since that’s what it was this past year:

                          Of course, things could change.
