Since there is no other MISC board, I will drop this critique here. Like the title says, D2football.com is so hard to use from the UI/UX side. I completely understand having ads and I'm ok with them, but when I'm on a mobile device it is so very hard to navigate through the site. The Temu add covers the entire screen and no matter how I try to avoid it, a new windows pops up. Very frustrating. The desktop version is perfectly usable. Hopefully there is something that could possibly be done.

There are certainly things that could be done, whether it is economically feasible or not is the question… considering how ubiquitous mobile browsing has become, it may be something that needs to be done to keep users and clicks.Originally posted by cwfenn View PostI think it was mentioned by the editors before...I think they said that there wasn't anything they could do to change it.
the forum page is frustratingly difficult with the pop up and drop down adds, and the links that don’t take you where they click.
The homepage is better, but still not great.

Well that is incorrect...there are plenty of things that could be done...but that would require moving the site to another host perhaps or domain changes. I know with the owner in a tough spot right now its a difficult deal. Personally I do not visit the site anymore on my phone period. Lots of challenges for the crew I am sure and I appreciate all they have done to keep the site up and running period.Originally posted by cwfenn View PostI think it was mentioned by the editors before...I think they said that there wasn't anything they could do to change it.

Exactly, I am not criticizing the guys and all the effort they put in, but to say there isn’t anything that could be done, is disingenuous. They may not have the time or the funds to do something about it, and that is probably fair.Originally posted by MrsThortonMelon View Post

What Craig means here is our hands are tied for the 2025 season as Brandon (site owner) hasn't been able to return to running the website and such. So the focus with Chuck and I running operations has been continuing on with the site, social media, and podcasts..but nothing on website changes ($$) or upgrades.Originally posted by cwfenn View PostI think it was mentioned by the editors before...I think they said that there wasn't anything they could do to change it.
Brandon is hoping that his stroke recovery can get to the point where he can return in a part-time manner in the offseason. The challenges with the mobile view of the site have been noted and talked about during this past year but the Google Ads are the lone source of income coming into the site for Brandon as the owner of the site..so that isn't something that will go away. However, we met last night with Brandon and this topic was brought up and the platform itself is an area that will be looked into for a better user experience for the 2026 season.

Chuck and Witt - thank you for what you have done in covering the workload and for carrying on the D2 Website. Any comments concerning difficulties in using the platform on a mobile device do not reflect on anyone behind the scenes. As we all have seen over the years in using computers, as the technology developed there were at times unique situations in using a link but we all pushed through, knowing that something would change.
Hey, with the rapid changes and advancements in tech these days we might be just a wee bit in a hurry to see changes occur. Reality is that you will take care of business soon and we appreciate that.
Go Bisons!
