I don't know what the AB players can do this late in the summer, but I'm glad I've got Western New Mexico to fall back on. Time to elevate them to my favorite D2 team. This crazy world keeps spinning and life goes on...so I just changed my avatar. Go Mustangs!Last edited by crixus; 07-31-2023, 05:50 PM.Go Mustangs!

Their debt is nearly $777,000. https://footballscoop.com/news/d-ii-...down-athletics

AB has some good men's basketball players who should still be able to catch on somewhere.

Their liabilities are $37 million.
Their income is $900k.
They were pleading for donations to make their current payroll and the upcoming payroll.
imho their closure was inevitable.
Sad.

All the colleges closing right now are just like AB. Very small private (under 1,200 students). Very little endowment (a measure of donor capacity). High tuition discount rate (above 50% of sticker). No reputation outside their immediate area (no name recognition or leading academic programs). AB was able to keep its head above water because so many students were still paying some tuition to play sports there. Its just not sustainable for a school like AB in a place like Philippi, WV.
