Bodes well for Shepherd next year!! Will be fun watching them smoke the PSAC every week next year!

Well deserved win by NDC to validate what has been obvious about the ballance between the two conferences for a while now.
NDC beat the PSAC runner-up by 4 points... ludicrous if you think it proves anything. PSAC still the deeper conference and it's not close.

It certainly proves the top of each conference is nearly the same in talent. Not going to argue the depth of the MEC, it's pretty bad once you get past the top 3 or 4.

MEC has 5 SR1 championships in this decade compared to 2 to the PSAC and 2 to the CIAA... jus saying.

          +1

As a conference, the MEC tends to have one team at the top every year that generally goes undefeated, then after that it is a war with "Any given Saturday" being the watch word every week. Does the MEC have back markers? Sure...as do all conferences. In PSAC land there are typically several teams that get close to running the table every year and a LOT of back marker teams that act as whipping boys for the PSAC leading teams.

Sure, one won SR1 in 2014. And went 5-5 the next year. And then 2-9 each year since.

Yep...Except for Shepherd, the MEC doesn't have programs with silver spoons in their mouth like the PSAC does. MEC is blue collar while the PSAC is white collar. In the MEC it's easy for a program to fall from the top to the bottom quickly because the conference is so even (except Shepherd).

Concord had a good program going with Justice as the coach... then they lost him and everything fell apart. Think Kellar might have been there as well.

Garin Justice at Concord was similar to Ray Monica at Kutztown. Created a winner and parlayed it into the more desirable coaching position. Although Kutztown hasn't had a losing season since Monica left after the 2011 season.

Kellar took over at Concord in 2009 taking over a program that had won one game the previous two years and none the last and immediately turned them into a 6-5 team. In 2010, he finished 8-3 and arguably should have made the playoffs. After he left they remained a good (not great) program (3 to 4 loss each year) until the epic 2014 season were they finished 13-1 and won the SR1 title. After Justice left, they fell off quickly going 5-5 in 15 and 2-8 the last three.

Similar with NDC, there is an arc were they played pretty good football leading up to this breakout season...finished with 3 losses and 2 losses the previous two years but obviously were left out of the playoffs. We'll see if they fall off or if they stay at the top in the coming seasons.

Please explain your theory on why you believe the MEC is a "blue collar" conference and why you believe the PSAC is a "white collar" conference?

Yea, and one of those teams at the top in 2016 and 2017 was a playoff worthy contender; Fairmont State. And how did they do in their season opener last year vs East Stroudsburg?

In this case, you'll need to define silver spoon.

In the seven years of the MEC, the MEC has had nine playoff teams. Same time period the PSAC has had 21 playoff teams. With SOOOOO many more playoff teams, you'd think the PSAC would have more SR1 titles than the MEC, wouldn't you?
