Guys like Darrin Hall from Pitt didn't get drafted. He'd have been a megastar at the D2 level. D2 backs just don't have the speed in almost all cases. That's why they are down here to begin with ...

I actually always thought Hall was the better pro prospect when comparing him and Ollison. Ollison was a bowling ball of sorts; good back, quick enough feet, but never a next level gear to breakaway in the open field. I thought Hall always showed good one cut ability. He had enough power to run between the tackles, but I also thought he clearly had more speed than Ollison.

At least the young man is getting a chance with the Browns:

Congrats to WCU Nydair Rouse who turned in a rookie camp invite into a contract with the Green Bay Packers. Talk about making the ultimate team sacrifice he played a Hybrid LB position for WCU last season yet was able to still showcase enough skills during the season to get attention of scouts and then perform well at the local Pro Day and ultimately made a good impression on the GB Packer coaching staff last weekend.

That is very true. He was a big back as far as D-II is concern (5' 11"/225lbs), but that's not big so big at the FBS level. So he needed to REALLY jump off the charts in order get any opportunity at the next level. A slow 40-time would really hurt his chances.

I read that he ran the 40 in about 4.6 seconds. i am only commenting based on watching him play a couple times, especially in the 2017 game against IUP. I think his problem is the first 2-5 yards. He just didn't seem to get out of the blocks very quick. If he got some open space he was really hard to bring down. Against better defenses he got bottled up.

Another PSAC guy headed to OTA's and training camp as Kutztown's RB Craig Reynolds parlayed his rookie camp tryout into a contract with the Redskins over the weekend....
