Just saw that the Steelers RB coach helping cover OC duties has a son on Slippery Rocks team and was first team All PSAC DB.

If it changes down the road, which is inevitable even if it’s 50 years from now, people then will likely not look at the Super Bowl era they way they look at whatever it is at that time.

As mad as some Philly fans must get about this, I think it’s worse with Packers fans. I was part of a conversation where someone said the Packers only won two Super Bowls and I watched a group of guys who were typically laid back beer guzzlers and brat eaters turn into madmen! They were ready to throw hands, LOL.
But nothing changed in the 60’s. It was a beer league. Those players were not in the condition they are today.

It was just a merger..not any massive change in the level of play.

It's hysterical to us because those who use it...usually delusional Cowturd and Midgets fans...do so because they are a current disadvantage to us currently.

It's not like the NFL somehow had this transformation between the 1965 season where the NFL and AFL still had separate title games and the first "Super Bowl" at the conclusion of the 1966 season.

The first two "Super Bowls" were not even called that at the time of their staging.

It's a marketing term for the NFL Championship Game....an event that has officially taken place since 1933.

There was no sudden change in the game. All it was that a merger happened and the NFL technically expanded. The league was watered down in reality...as it was much harder to win a title pre merger...especially when some teams could get all the talent like the Bears and Packers. Offically...the Green Bay Packers have the most titles at 13.

A Super Bowl win is no different in the NFL record book as any NFL title won from 1933 to 1965. You can argue that the titles bestowed from 1920 to 1932 are suspect since there was no official playoff.

That being said...the Eagles have four titles...a ring was given out each time. So the Yinzers only have 2 more......

What is really funny about those who think Super Bowls are somehow different...they forget that up until 1978...seasons were only 14 weeks...there were less teams in the playoffs and it was still mostly a beer league into the 70's. Those first 10-15 Super Bowl winning teams would get obliterated by today's teams...the game has slowly gotten bigger and faster over the years. So if the Eagles 1948, 1949 and 1960 titles "Don't count" anymore...than I'd say every Super Bowl Winner into the early 80's has reached their expiration date an no longer count either. It seems like player conditioning and the way the game is played took off more in the mid 80's...

Then I would attack that logic by asking when do World Series and Stanley Cups stop counting? I mean until 1969...there were no League Title Series. So do all World Series before the expansion of the playoffs no longer count?

So all Stanley Cups before the 1967 expansion no longer count? I mean the league doubled in size.

They reached big time. He was supposedly the best QB in a historically bad QB draft class. It’s hilarious that the actual best QB in that class was the final pick of the entire draft.

I think I’m in the minority based on the number of people calling for Canada’s head, but I think the Steelers have more of a Kenny Pickett problem than a Matt Canada problem. If someone gave me the choice right now between Pickett or Tyson Bagent, I wouldn’t hesitate to make that switch. It’s getting old hearing about Pickett’s toughness and competitiveness. He hasn’t shown an ability to make NFL throws and I believe that’s largely why the Steelers’ offense has been more horizontal than vertical.

Don’t mistake this as me saying they should have kept Canada, but I believe strongly that the issue is bigger than him.
I would agree with that sentiment. Matt Canada never should have been promoted to OC and certainly never should have been retained after last season. But I don’t think Kenny is good at all. And as a Pitt fan, I really wanted him to be.

But Yinzer Nation got their wish. I don’t think much is gonna change by just promoting a couple current staffers mid season. It’ll be interesting to see if Tomlin actually looks for a new OC in the offseason and dares to go outside the current staff. I don’t see him giving up on Kenny no matter how this season finishes so they’d better give him the best OC they can find for his make or break 2024 season.

Seems like the Steelers offense has been struggling since the Todd Haley dink and dunk days. Defense (particularly TJ Watt) is keeping them in games. But you're also right that Pickett does not seem to be playing like he did in college. His completion percentage is almost the same. Part of me is starting to wonder if playbooks are getting too complex for a lot of QBs. We see so many thrive in college (most in air raid style offenses) but have trouble producing.
