When I was in grade school and the Yinzers were the Steel Curtin...the Iggles were a poverty franchise.

The Eagles concluded the season having an overall historical franchise record above .500 for the first time ever.

For many years...the Flyers were the best run team in town...but that fell off the wayside.

The Phillies have their moments...they now have a good main owner who to quote "Wants his ****ing trophy back"...who is willing to spend.

But right now...the Eagles are the best run team in Philly and one of the top three run in the NFL.

It does include Churchill, but that neighborhood has gone downhill. The private country club there closed and is being turned into open space. The Westinghouse research center also closed.

Penn Hills was also a nice middle class suburb for decades after WW2 but is in even worse shape. Poverty, crime, loss of business. Those inner ring older suburbs have all slowly deteriorated as money moves further outside the city.

The market pretty much ended TJ's time in the Yinzerlands. Based on what others of his caliber just got, he's going to want upward of $40m. He's not getting that here. Both sides know it.

He would be a huge trade piece at the draft. I question if they even need to move up all that much to get Sanders. Many of the talking heads seem to think Dart has passed him as the No. 2 QB.

The fear (and objection) many schools had back when Woodland Hills was formed was it would quickly become a football mega-power.

George Novak obviously had a ton of success there. The challenge is getting kids on the team - and, keeping them on the team. That's been a struggle there since he retired.

If they could ever get all their best athletes bought in and on the team ... they'd rule the (WPIAL) world.

Yeah I have no issue with them moving Watt. They won nothing with him, they can win nothing without him. Getting a nice return and saving a boatload of money is a no brainer.

Assuming Cam Ward goes first to Tennessee, you still have the Giants, Browns and Raiders in the top six. I know the talk is they’re all leaning in directions other than QB, but I’m not sure I’d trust that. You also have the Saints sitting at 9. Plus a team without a “need” at QB could always pull a surprise like the Falcons did taking Michael Penix. I’d be surprised if Sanders drops outside the top 10.

I think Dart was a product of Lane Kiffin’s ability to scheme guys wide open all over the place at the college level. I’m not saying Shedeur is a franchise QB, but I’d take him over Dart.

TJ's not a social media whore, either, so I'd certainly buy in to the cryptic nature. He's not worth tying up that much coin on at this point. Like you said, they were slightly above average with him. They'll be similar without him.

I would love to see him land somewhere that can better utilize him. He'd be an even bigger terror if he'd get shifted around, etc.

Back to NFL news...

Gronk helped get over $400k in donations to give Woodland Hills a new weight room. Woodland Hills is one of the poorest school districts in the western half of the state and is historically noteworthy for the overtly racist way communities opposed its creation a few decades ago. Gronk also transferred to the district under quite questionable circumstances - rich kid from Buffalo prep school transfers to impoverished, largely Black football factory in Pittsburgh. Gronk's dad founded G&G Fitness, so I imagine they played a big part in this.
