Lock Haven OT Taylor Hartner entered the portal. 3 starting Lock Haven OL have entered the Portal. Center (Jones) went to West Chester. RT Fredrick hasn't posted anything. He had some good offers in Dec. Curious what happened with him.

Rock wideout and kick returner Kylon Wilson has transferred to Youngstown State. Somehow missed that he entered the portal. Quick review of his elon app shows nothing but FCS offers.

That is a big loss, the first significant player ( all conference) I can recall leaving, following position coach. I kind of thought that Ramper ( after is playoff season stats) would be the one to level up.

OL Varrius Farrell decommitted from LHU and is now headed to Slippery Rock. Good move for him.

They lost their top recruit after 1 semester in 2023 bc he failed out. No one was monitoring the kids academics. Hoping a new staff comes in with integrity. Beneath it all Mulrooney was not what he appeared to be to the outside world.

Yeah, that's why they hired him at Brown.

I'd guess the fear is the administrators will get enamored with some shiny new retread.

When you say the administrators I guess that is Commonwealth University. I think the interim AD will be very influential in this. Although Jones is "Interim" he has a much stronger presence than maybe any other AD in the PSAC.

Battaglia is another young, energetic, and hungry coach. Hell maybe that's the new model for Lock Haven, be the transfer portal for coaches looking to move up. Come in as a coordinator, get your opportunity to be a head coach, give them 2 or 3 good years, then move out and up.

Their recruiting class is going to be destroyed. How can anyone commit not knowing who the head coach is going to be unless they have no other options. I really don't like Lock Haven staff. They are constantly cutting guys and do not develop players. Maybe it was all at the direction of the head coach. I do not know. The one that stands out to me is when they cut a freshman DL last year that tore his ACL during the season. They cut him before spring semester. It will be interesting to watch. As it has been interesting to watch under Mulrooney. I don't think anybody knows what will happen there. Before 2022, nobody in the PSAC ever heard of Mulrooney. Who is to say the interim HC or the DC aren't going to be as successful. Do you think recruits signed on just because of one guy (Mulrooney)? Maybe. I think probably not.

I'm sure there will be some defections. Nobody knows yet how many. I think retaining the current players is more important than salvaging the incoming class. A program can recover from a poor recruitment class. Now if a bunch of the current players being relied on in the upcoming season bolt, then you've got a bigger problem.
