How is the commissioner supposed to stop schools from moving to FCS? It’s not like the football schools are jumping to other D-2 conferences.

The message board is a reflection of the conference, there just isn’t much positive to talk about, and that’s after one of the teams made it to the NC! Crazy to even think about! We have quality programs, just not enough of them.

I agree with UNALions.Hell may freeze over, but when his right, he is less left, and spot on here.

So far.. Black Hills. I think that they are close to locking others down though. So all they have are the 7 GLIAC opponents and one OOC today. I hope we hear something official for additional games soon! FWIW, I suspect other GLIAC members might have some similar issues, though I have no idea about the money side of it.

Frankly I can see why a school doesn't want to play a tougher opponent. What I don't get is why those that rarely, if ever, make the POs won't schedule. I guess there must be some reason.

And GSC has solid teams that have good history.

Some schools offer dollars for a game or will play at the opponent's field so dollars aren't in the picture for not playing the contest. In fact, one could argue that they could be losing some dollars.

yup. The door may be closing some now. But I do know of a couple of GSC schools that wouldn't schedule.. even at the GSC school.

Maybe not publicly, but I imagine there's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. There was a thread on it earlier this year, back before MC announced they had dropped football: there were future schedules listed for 2025 and 2026. It was quoted earlier in this thread, but I have it quoted again below, although the numbers have since changed a bit now with MC gone and the 2026 schedule now M.I.A.

    2025 Schedule

    DSU: 10 total, 4 GSC, 6 OOC. 2 open
    MC: 10 total, 4 GSC, 6 OOC, 2 open
    VSU: 10 total, 4 GSC, 6 OOC, 2open
    UWA: 7 total, 4 GSC, 3 OOC, 5 open
    UWF: 9 total, 4 GSC, 5 OOC, 3 open

    2026 Schedule

    DSU: 8 total, 4GSC, 4 OOC, 4 open
    MC: 9 total, 4 GSC, 5 OOC, 3 open
    VSU: 7 total, 4 GSC, 3 OOC, 5 open
    UWA: 7 total, 4 GSC, 3 OOC, 5 open
    UWF: 10 total, 4 GSC, 6 OOC, 2 open
