  • Canadarican Week 4 Regional Rankings

Our laptop isnt working correctly, so I'm having to post this on my phone. Can go into more details on rankings and such like usual later. Only issue I had with how the rankings turned out is West Georgia still being ranked 5th (as of right now). Reason why they are still ranked ahead of others in regions is being ranked in both voter polls, which is 1/3 of the criteria I use.

    SUPER REGION I

    1. Notre Dame (Ohio) (3-0)
    2. Slippery Rock (3-0)
    3. West Chester (3-0)
    4. Indiana (Pa.) (3-0)
    5. Kutztown (3-0)
    6. Shepherd (2-1)
    7. California (PA) (2-1)
    -----------------
    8. Urbana (3-0)
    9. Ohio Dominican (2-1)
    10. Tiffin (2-1)

    SUPER REGION II

    1. Valdosta State (3-0)
    2. Lenoir-Rhyne (3-0)
    3. Wingate (3-0)
    4. Bowie State (3-0)
    5. West Georgia (2-1)
    6. West Alabama (2-1)
    7. Delta State (2-1)
    ----------------
    8. Virginia Union (2-1)
    9. West Florida (2-1)
    10. Albany State (1-2)

    SUPER REGION III

    1. Ferris State (3-0)
    2. Ouachita Baptist (3-0)
    3. Northwest Missouri (3-0)
    4. Grand Valley (3-0)
    5. Indianapolis (3-0)
    6. Pittsburg State (3-0)
    7. Central Missouri (3-0)
    ----------------
    8. Harding (2-1)
    9. Saginaw Valley (3-0)
    10. Truman State (3-0)

    SUPER REGION IV

    1. Minnesota State (3-0)
    2. Tarleton State (3-0)
    3. Texas A&M-Commerce (3-0)
    4. Colorado Mines (3-0)
    5. Midwestern State (3-0)
    6. Minnesota-Duluth (3-0)
    7. CSU-Pueblo (2-1)
    ----------------
    8. Angelo State (3-0)
    9. West Texas A&M (2-1)
    10. St. Cloud (2-1)

Not sure which "ranked polls", but UWG dropped out of AFCA Top 25.
I enjoy and appreciate your Regional Rankings.

Would think CN would be 8th or 9th at least. Away game loss to Wingate by two points should not drop them in the rankings.

They are still ranked in D2football.com. and while they dropped out of coaches poll, they are still receiving votes and that helps them in my rankings. Agree with your point tho. Personally, I'd have dropped them to like...8 maybe 9. With no disrespect to my two very good friends who coach for Albany, that's a bad loss. The Rams lost to Mississippi College for goodness sake.

If my personal opinion was reflected at all, I would 100% agree with you. But where all the teams in the current top 10 are either ranked or receiving votes in both the coaches poll or d2football.com poll, the eagles fell. I'd have them 8 maybe. Currently they are 12th. But early in the season it fluctuates like crazy. They will probably be back in if they get a win this weekend.

I wonder what the SAC's chances of getting 3 teams in are.

I think its feasible. If LR, Wingate and CN win all their games not against each other and the GSC keeps beating itself up. Ya figure 1 from CIAA, maybe 1 from SIAC. But definitely possible.

Harding is going to be fighting for a playoff spot.

Absolutely agree. They are a good football team. Be interesting to see where they are come Wednesday. Probably somewhere between 6-8 again.

Don't know much about the other teams, but I agree that Carson-Newman should be in the top 10 of Region II. Lost by 2 against #3 Wingate. Beat #9 West Florida by 7. And #10 Albany State record is 1-2. They should probably be #7 or #8.....

Some fun analysis. I sure hope that those reading this understand the official RR's are done using mostly different metrics. Thanks for spreading some fun.

Go check out the more recent rankings.

thanks tho. I do it solely for fun. And most of the time I at least get the teams right although maybe not exact order. Last year I only missed on Azusa!!!
