  • SR2 regional rankings

Going to be interesting to see if the rankings are hijacked again this year. Last year’s first week was a joke and very biased if I recall. We had teams with two losses ahead of teams undefeated or one loss and from stronger conferences. I believe Valdosta to be the top seed and all four SAC teams with one loss to be in the next seven. WFU and WAla. Virginia Union. Those are my 8 and the order is debatable.

First rankings come out today. They will be alphabetical, not in order of rank.

It is also nice to see Charlotte's Johnson C Smith and Winston Salem State in our regional rankings also. JCS is undefeated and last Saturday defeated WSS.

Boy that's a pleasant surprise considering where I thought we'd be at this point of the season.

Honestly, CIAA is a one maybe two bid league this year. I think JCSU is in as long as they win out the next two weeks. If they win or lose the CIAA championship they'd be in at that point. If VUU can win out and avenge their early season loss against JCSU then I think they'd both be in with 1 D2 loss records.

Looks like the following teams are presently in the best shape for making this year's D2 football 🏈 playoffs:

            Wingate
            Carson Newman 🦅
            Emory & Henry

Emory lost to Mars Hill today. Likely has to win last 2 games to get in.

So right now would Wingate play CN for SAC?

With all the teams in Super Region 2 with pretty decent records this year, it's going to be tough (aside from Conference Champions) for some teams to be selected. I believe overall SOS will play a bigger role this year than in the past, which could include a team (or teams) with more losses than weaker SOS teams with better records.

I will predict early on that there's going to be some folks upset and crying on this site once the final selection are made.

There’s always people upset and crying, only thing different this year then the last couple is that CN is making the playoffs.

Don’t forget about earned access as well. Could come into play with Miles being the only SIAC team in PO contention.

Yep. I think in Inkblots latest bracketology (last week) Miles bumped out West Alabama. Maybe IDK. I forgot what I ate for breakfast today.

Valdosta, Wingate, Johnson, CN, WFLA, Miles, Emory, WAla., VS, LR. Two thru five could be in any order.

The CIAA's Virginia Union (they won 91-0 Saturday) is in the mix, as is the GSC's Delta State if they win their next 2 games, based on their strong SOS.
