With the coaches poll being released, I wonder who cast the votes for the teams; which coach voted for whom!

Is there a coffee hut coming to the stadium anytime soon? :) I can't believe it's still open in Searcy!Originally posted by Divisiontwo View PostFirst Security Stadium had some nice new decorations I saw today. 2023 National Champions sure looked nice on the press box.
1.) HU
2-4.) HSU, OBU, SAU
The rest of the GAC. Don’t see much parity coming anytime soon.

Ha!! I think I know what you’re referring to. I, also, am surprised it’s still open. I actually don’t know of anyone personally who has been out there. At least they haven’t admitted to it anyways.Originally posted by Mulerider View Post

Can you tell us if there is a highway sign announcing the National Champions? An addition to the signs that state "Welcome to Searcy" "Home of Harding University", a sign that says "Home of the 2023 D2 Football National Champions?"
Also can anyone post a photo of the sign/banner at First Security Stadium and of the highway sign, if there is one?

The Oline has depth from last year. The hard part is getting guys to veer and learn the plays/ footwork in their redshirt year. starters are marginally better than the back ups every year and that makes them easy to replace when guys graduate. I’ve seen enough seasons go by to know that every year besides 1-2, there is a conversation about how depleted the Oline is… and every year they are the most consistent, physical, and dependable unit on the field- no disrespect to any other groups.Originally posted by BisonDOc View PostI'd like to keep this going even with the media day projections all going.
1. Harding- Hard to not put the champs at the top of the list as they have finished top 2 pretty much every year since Simmons has been head coach and that goes back further I think since 2014. While the QB, B-Back and slots return, lost 4 of the starters on the O-line. Harding did something I haven't seen them do in awhile and that's hit Juco and others for O-lineman. How quickly can they gel because getting them at the first 3-4 games is the best chance at someone else besides HSU/OBU of beating them before the flexbone machine gets really going.

Coach Chism one of the best in the business. They are so well coached that by the time it’s their turn to hit the field it’s almost plug in and play.Originally posted by LeftSider View Post

Listen OldBison mine was an OL starter, all conference performer, and team captain last year so I’m not suggesting we are going to come out game 1-3 and look like last year’s OL down the stretch. At the same time, OL play isn’t predicated by the talent of any one individual player, but how they play together as a unit. Steps and blocking technique are critical and have to be precise for the flexbone to run the way it should. All I’m saying is we have plenty of other talented players who have a lot of playing time under their belt and I trust our coaches to have them ready to roll and perform. You don’t consistently rush for 350+ yds a game year after year unless the talent and coaching is there.Originally posted by OldBison View PostI don’t care how plug and play they are. We’re going to a consensus All-American left guard when it comes time to play the kind of defensive personnel GVS and FSU will have.

I kind of get it, but a lot of that depends on competition too. Although it was a win.. a recall a recent game when only one TD was scored and IIRC, total yards were around 225.

Haha I surely didn’t suggest in that post that we would put up 350+ against anyone we played. In fact, it had zero to do with winning another natty or going undefeated. That takes both skill and a little luck. It was simply to say as a father of a OL starter on last year’s team I’m about as biased as anyone could be about the quality of last year’s OL. But bias aside, Harding has had a consistently great ground game long before we ever won a NC. And, I think it’s at best a little naive, to not think there is plenty of good, experienced talent waiting in the wings to continue that. Only time will tell if they will perform as well as last year’s OL, but we have excellent coaching and I have seen in year’s before mine played kids keep stepping up and performing at a high level. I love all the kids on last year’s OL and think the world of them all, but no player or player’s are Irreplaceable. That was my only point.Originally posted by Redwing View Posta nd
