Former GV Jadhae Walker transferred to Texas A&M and found great success. He became a starter after one of his teammates got injured. He’s put up big numbers in the SEC once he got playing time. But for every success story like Jadhae, there’s probably 5 failures.

Niles King took down all his Twitter posts about receiving offers......but it doesn't say he has committed anywhere. Wonder if maybe he's considering coming back to GV. That would be fantastic.2021 D2Football Fantasy Champion

From keeping an eye on Twitter, I count 9 guys from WSU's roster that entered the portal that weren't listed on Senior Day.
R-Fr QB - Cole Canter - Hillsdale - I'm not shocked, WSU is clearly moving to a spread option type offense. Coach DeMasi straight up said he's a pure pocket passer.
R-So WR - Dion Brown, Jr. - #2 receiver
R-So OT - Adam Sarjo - Davenport
Jr - WR - Te'Avion Warren - Top receiver
R-Jr - LB - Blake Gilliam
R-Jr - OT - Blake Bustard - Eastern MI - Billed as a top 100 player in D2, not surprising he'd move up to the MAC
R-Jr - TE - Nathaniel Eberly-Rodriguez - Charlotte - A guy I wanted to see do well this year being 6'5" - 240.
Sr - QB - Josh Kulka - As with Cole, not surprising. After an exciting couple games in 2021, 2022 was a downer, and by this season he must not have fit the offense.
R-Sr RB - Kendall Williams - Second year as WSU's leading rusher and a solid kick returner.
I'm not surprised at the amount of guys leaving on the offensive side of the ball. They were recruited into one system and had to play in one quite different this season.

I have a real bad feeling about WSU's football program next season. If you thought this past season was underwhelming, it's only going to get worse. Having these players want to leave indicates to me they don't like where the program is headed, not because the offense changed. VERY skeptical of Wheatley and his staff's coaching ability. Being completely honest, if you do a deep dive on on their past coaching resumes, it leaves A LOT to be desired.2021 D2Football Fantasy Champion

Not to derail the thread too much, but if it was a program-wide issue, I would expect to see a similar number of defensive guys hop into the portal as well. I think they will be young team still, but trending upwards. They've won the same amount of games in 1 season as they had in the previous 2 (and should have had 2 more wins imo). They have a young QB that seems to fit and excel in the new system and that has retained his redshirt. And yeah, like Kle said, they've already got a bunch of commitments. My memory's a little short, but I don't remember them having this many commits this early.
For the portal guys, the litmus test will be where they end up playing and what they do there.
