Sure, but they won't have extra schollies for this year. And you think they'll get FBS/xfrs this season in hope that they move up in '25? I don't see that. They may get a couple, but I can't see that reason being the difference maker. Still, I do find 14 pts on the high side.

I agree, I was not really in agreement with Massey on some of their spreads, I think they will beat Campbellsville, and have a good shot on hanging around with and having a shot to beat maybe Wayne and for sure Northern.

Agreed that 14 seems steep. And, Ferris being a TD dog to anyone is hard to buy as well. Don't care if it's on the road.

It's that Massey MIAA bias. It typically has the MIAA teams higher rated than other conferences. No clue as to why that is. Look at the GV/FSU spread... it's lower, And I don't think Massey takes in rivalry factors as it's based upon numbers.

Massey is just for fun. He isn't backing those as betting lines.

                Is NMU really that awful?

How come GV gets a home game vs Ferris for the second year in a row, and how come SV gets a home game vs GV for the second year in a row?

Schedules are typically set for 2 years. So we're on a new 2 year cycle and previous season doesn't impact it. I find it odd as well, but it happens fairly regularly.

It used to happen quite a bit when the GLIAC had more teams. We were dealing with three scheduling pods at one time, ten-game conference slates, Ohio teams only having to go to the U.P. once every other year, etc. LOL...looking back on it, the whole thing bordered on mayhem.

The two-year cycle is a key component as each cycle is its own, independent entity. They do TRY to not have any repeat visits as one cycle concludes and the next begins, but it definitely can/does happen. As for this season in particular, adding another team also impacts it and increases the need for it/likelihood of it happening. It can seem weird. Just have to keep in mind that "over the long term" the # of home games between the institutions is still even.

There are actually several repeats this year:

                        Davenport @ Tech
                        Northern @ Davenport
                        Ferris @ GV
                        GV @ Saginaw
                        Saginaw @ Ferris

There might be more but those are all I could find quickly and without going cross-eyed...I think I got them all...
