Avery Moore was not the same smash mouth QB that he was last year and was injured much of the year. 2) The defense, while starting out very good, seemed to lack discipline as the season wore on. Staying in their coverage lanes went by the wayside and teams were allowed to get outside on them. That’s what Trinidad Chambliss discovered early on in that game. 3)!the defensive line seemed to wear down as the season went on. Perhaps because they were on the field way too much. I have to agree with a previous poster that this defense was not as good as last year.. 4) There’s a difference in being “nicked up” and being the walking wounded. By the time GV got to Harding the starting QB didn’t even dress, 3 starting O-linemen were out and the best one played on a high ankle sprain, the middle linebacker played with a broken thumb and looked like he had a boxing glove on and our best cover and tackling D-back dislocated his shoulder early on and kept trying to get back in the game anyway. Now, if that sounds like whining or making excuses to you, so be it. Would GV have beaten Harding if healthy …..maybe….but as a longtime Laker fan, I really don’t think so. But just once I’d like to try it. Hats of to the Bison. They played a near perfect game at Lubbers Stadium. I may even drive up to Big Rapids for the regional final. I just don’t know which side to sit on as I’m not particularly fond of either team.
This is not a knock by any means but simply an observation. Although injuries are certainly a part of the game and all teams are banged up by this point of the season, this is a carbon copy of what we heard last year. Not doubting the veracity of it by any means, but if your team is that significantly beat up 2 yrs in a row then it may be time to reevaluate your strength and conditioning program and/or training staff.

Yeah, always kinda bummed me out that I never did get to meet Bulldog. Champ is around, and I swear I've seen Irish post here recently. Heck, even myself am not quite as on here as much as I used to be. BCON, as far as I know, busy with kids and all of that. DVarra, I believe he was supposed to be the principle to a school up in the UP.

RIP Bulldog & Blazer Lady, combined, that's at minimum 500 posts per year

Blazerlady for sure is missed this year, and some of us older GLIAC guys do remember Bulldog and going a couple of rounds with him. They are both on the other side now, And there's plenty of others who just got busy and just don't come around to the board anymore either for whatever reason.

I'm thinking that if the experience is positive, a few may stick around, even if their team regresses to the middle of the pack. The Broncos seem like they're going to be a perennial contender, that's cool because the forum can use some new blood.

Sure did. But I'm not sure what that has to do at all with what I said lol.

KLE too many logistical issues to do that - We would need to expand Big Rapids International so big planes can land. Not sure we can expand our Holiday Inn Express or Country Inn and Suites. Applebees only sits 60 people at a time. Expand the stadium which would involve moving our 20 foot Bulldog statue to another location. Not worth the time plus we already have 1 D1 program. Lets just stay in D2 with Tony.

LOL, I'll be watching but I have to admit that I'll be pulling for the Bison though because they are former conference mates and little brother done good.
