Ya, this crew made some terrible calls - the safety was just plain wrong - the replay clearly showed the qb’s arm being hit while throwing knocking it off target - terrible, just terrible - very amateurish call - QB’s in our league just don’t throw a ball like that it was obvious

Hilarious they couldn't even get the ball spotted right. Definitely a couple of wow moments from them.Originally posted by BillyGV View PostYa, this crew made some terrible calls - the safety was just plain wrong - the replay clearly showed the qb’s arm being hit while throwing knocking it off target - terrible, just terrible - very amateurish call - QB’s in our league just don’t throw a ball like that it was obvious

Our O isn’t good enough, the D is but they will be out on the field all game next week, will get tired and the dogs will score a lot - disappointing for the D to be at a high level and the O to be average at bestOriginally posted by DawgUp View PostMaybe TA throws you guys a bone next week (get it..Anchor-Bone I know, I'm hilarious). 2 Losses and a win over Ferris should get you in

It's kinda crazy how bad the special teams was for GV in this game. You had a blocked XP taken back for two. You had an illegal substitution on a field goal by SV that resulted in SV getting another chance, which they made. You had a kickoff out of bounds. You had a fumble by your returner. You had a missed field goal. You had a big return wiped out by a running in to the punter penalty. And the fake punt that felt obvious to anyone watching, since it was a brand new punter in the game for the first time. Literally every special teams play for GV was a negative outside of the punt downed at the 1.
I'm kinda starting to scratch my head at some stuff. You're giving away every play by the personnel you put in the game, IMO.
I think most of the issues stem from the OL not being able to run block, which makes us one dimensional.
Also, and they had no bearing on the result of the game, but this officiating crew was the worst crew I've ever seen in a football game. It started with giving a 15-yard pass interference penalty from the 21 yard line, and they put the ball at the 6. But at that spot on the field, it should be a halfway to the goal penalty and been at the 10. They never corrected that. And then you had the abomination of a field goal at the end of the first half. How do you spot the ball at the 36 after a sack, run through a fire-drill field goal, assess a 5-yard penalty on the defense, then come back out with the ball spotted at the 24 yard line? And then GV has to CHALLENGE THE SPOT of the sack that was already marked correctly for the first field goal attempt? That's insanity. And then you had the safety for intentional grounding while the QB was getting hit, when it says in the rulebook that intentional grounding can't be assessed if the hit by a defender on the QB impacts the trajectory of the ball out of the hand. Like just the most basic stuff, this crew had no idea what to do. Again, it didn't change the result of the game necessarily, but they were really bad in just their administration of the game.Last edited by KleShreen; 10-18-2025, 04:40 PM.2021 D2Football Fantasy Champion

But they did impact the final result.
the umpire is supposed to stand over the ball until substitutions are complete
with the clock at :11 and counting at the end of the first half, the official was no where near the ball and the ref allowed snap when GV should have been allowed to complete their subs prior to the kick since SV had subbed on offense to get their kicking team on the field
I was screaming about it prior to the first kick
Totally incompetent officials and the fuc… ing spineless conference commissioner won’t do a god… mn thing about it.

That's true. Does it apply to field goals and punts, though? Where the "defense has the opportunity to make subs" thing is still in effect?Originally posted by 4nick8 View PostBut they did impact the final result.

Saggy deserved to win this game today. They made enough plays and GV clearly did not. GV gets 3 turnovers which lead to 3 three and outs. Pathetic offense and playcalling from GV. At one point, we had all 3 QBs on our team on the field at the same time. WT___ was that!?!?

Our o-line just isn’t that good - but yet we still try to run long pass plays never giving them a chance - we need to understand what we can do and not do - we can’t block for extended time - our poor D has to win the game because our O can’t - not sure there is much we can do if they aren’t going to adjust the O to the level of ability - does this make any sense or am I out of my mind?

Nah the offensive playcalling is driving me insane, it feels like our playcaller doesn't understand that you don't have to get the first down all in one play.Originally posted by BillyGV View PostOur o-line just isn’t that good - but yet we still try to run long pass plays never giving them a chance - we need to understand what we can do and not do - we can’t block for extended time - our poor D has to win the game because our O can’t - not sure there is much we can do if they aren’t going to adjust the O to the level of ability - does this make any sense or am I out of my mind?

Well that’s true as far as the thought process of trying to get a first down all on one play - we need possession passes that get 5 to 7 yards - we always go deep on pass plays that take a long time to develop and our qb gets hit all the time - that kid is taking a pounding - more quick passes over the middle - but no - we keep trying to run when we don’t have the blocking - some runs are required but if it isn’t working you have to try something else - we really need to take a hard look at who we are and what we can do and stop trying to force something that we just aren’t good at - hopefully they will do this and revamp the plays we run - Go LakersOriginally posted by HamboyGV View Post
