I hope he progresses well. Maybe Osborn can get back to that. We had good QB progression when he was QB coach.

i agree, a bit of both. their offensive line got to the 2nd level often, putting pads on linebackers, and their defensive line ate blocks all day long. pretty stout lines on both sides of the ball for ferris.

You guys are a joke. Ferris was the better team and seemingly controlled the game, yet we were literally one play away from winning. We (especially fans like you) are spoiled NW fans.

Great season Cats. Good luck to Ferris.

One made play. Only because of the missed plays by Ferris. Missed FGs, pick six, onside kick, etc. That game could have been a whole lot worse than it was. We were able to make it close on the scoreboard. Pretty good year for a program that is used to doing a lot better. It's nice when a down year would be other teams' dream seasons.

Good season for both teams. Congrats on that.

This game shouldn't have been this tight. NW gave up over 300 on the ground and 200 in the air. FSU fumbled at the 5, missed 3 FGs and held NW to under 200 yards of offense into the 4th quarter. Letting a team hang around will get you, didn't this time but it may next time. This should have been a 40 ish to 7 game as NW second TD came with a slip by a WR and a gift to the DB for a pick 6. Then the trash TD.

I don't see the excitement from NW fans on their QB? I think he is close to his ceiling. You will see some improvement due to experience but I don't think the physical skills are going to be great. He runs very tentative and shy's away from contact. Course he doesen't have much wood in the shed, he will need to hit the weights and put on a few pounds if NW is going to continue to run him, so he can handle the contact.

NW defense was pushed around. Hardly any pressure by the Dline and the LBs were MIA for most of the game. FSU got the edge several times and had several long runs. And did this without their starting QB. Pretty impressive.

Again. Congrats on making the playoffs and a good season.

If you thought at any point we were the better team, I would question your vision. We didnt give up, but we, like Harding, were lucky Ferris doesn't know how to close opponents out very well. Almost cost them again. But we were dominated all day.

I dont know how anyone could say Wright is near his ceiling. What expectations would you have for a small, skinny, fast freshman?

We will know 2 or 3 games into next year where he could go, or not. Get up to 65% accuracy and keep healthy on your feet, he can be pretty good. Or someone else will take his spot.

Saying he is near his ceiling isn't an insult. It's just saying he is already playing near it. He had a 132 QB eff and completed 57% of his passes. Those numbers aren't going to be night and day better.

it depends on how he develops...if he can fix some of the mechanix (more over the shoulder) especially on mid to deep thrown balls, could effect those numbers to a night and day difference. less sidearm whips and a better form could/should improve accuracy and touch. i think he got better at checking down to receivers as the season wore on. i think he has a higher ceiling, but there is work to be done. but starting as a red-shirt freshman, not a bad finish.

Did you watch the game? We would have needed to go to daily confession had we stolen that. Great season, one win better than last year, and I think next year looks really bright for NW. But, you're delusional if you think we deserved to win.

I know it isnt an insult, but it is ignorant if nothing else. We have no idea what it may be, especially with no offseason under his belt. Going from 57% to 65% would be possible and a big deal. If he stays at 60, then we know. But we all knew he was raw day 1.

I never said we were the better team or that we deserved to win. I'm just not going all doomsday and acting like we got trucked. Ferris won both sides of the ball. A couple freak things happened to keep the game close. If one more freak thing had happened, we would have won. I thought they competed hard against a team that was a better football team and were in the game until the end. That's all I'm saying.

NW got owned today in the trenches on both sides of the ball (especially defense)...and still had a chance to win. Can't remember the last time a team effortlessly ran up 600 yards of offense on us...whenever it was, I doubt the game was that close. The DL and LBs were receiving blocks all day instead of attacking the LOS and shedding the blocks. Lots of uncalled holding on both sides of the ball...Ferris got away with a bunch in the first half and NW did in the 2nd half. Appears NSIC and MIAA refs are not all that different.

Game kind of reminded me a lot of Iowa/Nebraska yesterday. Could have been a blow out, but the score ended up way closer than it seemed it should have been.

Overall, not at all happy with the way the season went, but did see some improvement over last year. Guess I'll stick around, renew my season tix and see what happens next fall.

57 to 65 is 8%. That is near the ceiling.

If you are within 8% you are near the top. The kid will improve but if NW fans are expecting a big leap I believe you are setting yourselves up for a disappointment.

His biggest room will be decision making. But he had good numbers this year. Much will also depend on players around him.
