You know, if you are going to attempt to do one of those desperate final "lateral" plays to attempt to score on a final play to win this football game, the last thing you want to do is do a series of mindless l-o-n-g l-o-b-b-i-n-g lateral passes sideline to sideline playing catch and getting smothered by the defense. Costly defensive penalties, but the D still did plenty to win. The O has to close drives (give the d@mn ball the McKellar) and you have to make short field goals. Props to WU, especially the frosh QB. They came to play, fought to the end, and earned the W.
NW now must win out for a real shot at the POs. Luckily have UNK and ESU at home. May want to sit Hohensee next week and see if the ankle can heal.Leave a comment:

17-16 Washburn, Congrats to Washburn, NW made too many mistakes on offense, play-calling in the red zone was questionable at best. Defensive penalties were killer and the Washburn color guy still might have been the worst part of the game. NW has a lot to clean up after this one.Leave a comment:
