For the record, no one was blaming NSU for the conference struggles. We just said you didn’t bring anything to the conference in football, and much of the other sports, other than a warm body to beat up on. You weren’t making anyone better. Now go on, go play your crappy schedule against winless teams so you can have “something” to tell your boosters.

No what I'm saying is that they're not transferring down at the same rate because no longer to 10 division one players have only with the option of going down now they can go horizontal institutions. But you did mention something that will change everything I don't know how that is the revenue sharing because they're only going to have 105 people on the roster that will make things a little bit more interesting but it'll take four or five years before that starts trickling down. That's not the core of the problem for the MIAA it's just one of many.

When I started this thread back in September, I was concerned that there were no elite teams in the MIAA this year. Only a few very good teams, a lot of good teams, and one bad team (my MOSO Lions). I think the last two weeks verified my concerns of no elite teams in the MIAA this year. As a league, we should be embarrassed by the last two weeks ... especially yesterday. How can you give up 78 in a playoff game? As bad as the MOSO defense was, we never gave up over 70 this year! I believe the MIAA needs to get back to playing a tougher, more physical style of football. If not, we'll have to get used to the ass-whoopings in the playoffs like the last two weeks. We're no longer the SEC of D2 ... but more like the Big 12 or former Pac 12.

ad is still building at a place that hasn't won in awhile but has invested in their facilities. they are ascending at the moment. pitt was but is now adjusting to a new coach - time will tell how that turns out. central's guy is in his 3rd yr & has had some success but it's limited. we are on the carousel. hays has a guy that won in the past, always a chance he can do it again (?). washburn's success was awhile ago at this point but they're moving onto a new coach so there's hope for their fans. idk about mowest's trajectory at the moment. emporia has an above average coach that will continue to give the league depth even if they never break through (or maybe they will - partridge had his year). kearney's got a new guy, too soon to make head or tail of that. southern's obviously struggled for awhile, i would guess they'll move on after next season & try again.

these things run in cycles. the key is that the league is full of programs that are trying, there just aren't a ton of proven commodities beyond ad (& even that was at a different place with a different staff) at the moment but that will change - it'll cycle back around eventually.

but yes atm collectively it blows.

The new roster limits should help D2 get their hands on more players. There should be an influx of players coming almost right away… That’s about 20 less players per institution. Fringe high school players might not get that D1 offer now… preferred walk ons and walk ons in general are probably a thing of the past at the D1 level. IMO, it should be a positive for the lower divisions.

Why would WU leave? They’ve had playoff success in the last decade and are generally competitive in other sports. What is MOSO bringing the conference in football? Either basketball teams? They’ve got Baseball I guess. A sort of competitive track team?
MSSU finished 3rd for the MIAA Commissioner’s Cup. "Missouri Southern finished the year strong with an MIAA title and a pair of runner-up finishes in the spring seasons. The Lion men highlighted Southern’s spring competition in capturing the regular season title in men’s golf and finishing second in baseball and men’s track and field. The Lions women’s golf and women’s track and field teams both finished fourth in the league to help Southern end the year in the standing’s top three."

They bring more to the conference than most notice.

Like cats54 used to say. There are no super teams. It's about continuous improvement and peaking at playoff time. Nobody managed that this year.

There were 3 other teams within a tenth of a point of each other for 3rd. The gap between 2nd and 1st was the same as 2nd and 10th. You’re not bringing as much to the conference as you think.

If Ferris ends up winning this game, it is evidence that we made the wrong decision about coaching.

Give HCTA the benefit of the doubt. But the rookie OC is in over his head and his deadbeat OL coach must go or HCTA's tenure will be a short one.

With the 2025 realignment of conferences / regions, which conferences will be in region 3 and which in region 4.

4 will be LSC, RMAC, MIAA and GAC for sure. Not sure about the NSIC, but I think they're going to 3 with the gliac and glvc, and someone else.

This has to help, right? Angelo went 0-2 against non-playoff teams from the MIAA this year and got the 3 seed in SR4.
