May be a tough year or two for high school players and recruiting.

What I don't understand is the classification in D1 football scholarships. They went from 85 Headcount scholarships to 105 Equivalency scholarships that can be split among players. If they've got 105 Scholarships to hand out to the 105 man roster - why would they need to split scholarships? Is that how they are going to keep 125 guys around the program? If that's the case - then D1 Walk-Ons are now partial scholarship guys?

Of course, raising the limits doesn't guarantee that all schools will fully fund the additional scholarships.
Meanwhile, just for grins, I checked out the tuition totals for the recently completed FCS Final Four. All 4 schools in-state number was about $9K. Out of state for the 3 Dakota schools is about $14K, while Montana St is at $33K for out-of-state.

Big time get for UCM with Morgan Pearson from Colorado transferring to the Mules. He was a 3* linebacker out of high school with offers from Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Iowa State, and Illinois State. Also had a baseball offer from Oklahoma State. Crazy athlete with lots of potential. Redshirted his first year at Colorado and switched to TE this past season as a RSFr. Looks like they have him as a TE for now at UCM but with his skills I could see him moved to WR or LB.

Gundy is going to coach at Oklahoma State and not play.
Also Jack Dawson from FHSU has committed to Arkansas Tech. Not much of a surprise as former FHSU backup QB Ethan Forester was there this past year. Played some before getting hurt. It'll be fun to follow them again this year. Forester was a good QB just behind Dawson and Heavner. So it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Wish him the best!!
