  • Good Job Pitt State

Oklahoma Lands Second Transfer Portal Tight End OU received a commitment from Will Huggins, a big tight end at Pittsburg State. I know Pitt does not want to be a farm team, but this speaks volumes about coaching, training, teaching, and mentoring at Pitt State

Speaks volumes about how the transfer portal has changed the landscape of college athletics. Every team at the lower levels is a farm team. Hell, even at the FBS level, some would be considered farm teams.

Oh yeah, O-who that just went 6-7. I’m sure after signing Huggins they’ll be in the CFP next year for sure.

How many players are being plucked OUT of Edmond to play in front of 80,000 people?

He may have been the only bright spot for our offense this last year, he was already D1 out of KU and came down to spend a year with his buddy from high school. I’m sure he will get some NIL money and get some special teams play. Probably more of an indictment of our staff that he was only here a year and we could t do more with him.

He was under utilized by a crappy OC.

That I know of, none so far. I thought Terrill Davis might but for now he is still around. Are you suggesting it is a good thing if there is a mass exodus from a program? I would think that isn’t a sign of a healthy program.

AFAIK we have two portal players. Higgins, now at OU, and Nichols, a corner who is a grad transfer that didn’t play much. We did lose our all region center to the armed forces. He joined the navy.

Great frame, good speed, decent hands, great blocker. I don't really give Pitt credit for that. KU developed him,.Pitt borrowed him for a year, and now he's off to D1 again.

He was mostly wasted at Pitt under a bad OC.

The Naval Academy or like he gave up football and straight up went Navy? Good for him. I’m USAF, we appreciate our sailors.

I think he gave up football. He was announced at senior day and the coach show said he was joining the navy.

i think his overall production and size helped more than anything. dont remember him being a HUGE threat against UCO. mateer has a good TE at WSU and probably would like a good target to help with the lack of oline health and lack of ability to keep the qbs clean.
finley was a grea TE at ou back in the day and im sure he knows a good talent at that position.
