I think they are trying to make the jump to D1 and that is the major holdup, their football program. They are investing some money now so that when the move happens they don't have all of that expense at once. Just my .02

Is it just me or does it feel like Tarleton is finally starting to put football as THE SPORT since hiring Whitten, Lonn retirement, and the stadium renovations? I really can't remember TSU being a football school even though it would appear that all the tools are there to be one.

My thoughts are all the above with primary reason being a possible move to FCS. IMO, we should be better than we are in all sports. Hopefully, having full time AD will help with this.

I think another issue is money as this is what drives almost everything.

Was surprised to see that Tarleton had a net loss in 2017 of $20K. ASU & WT were the only schools in our conference (in the state) to actually bring in revenue for the year.
